They should not be selling pork barbeque anymore. Tough meat, overcooked and high amount of connective tissue, rubbery.

Umart Foods & Bake Shop is a solid choice for homestyle Filipino food in Hoffman Estates. We ordered bopis, papaitan, beef kaldereta, lechon kawali, and pork and chicken BBQ; all of which were delicious and perfectly cooked. The only dish that fell a little short was the pancit bihon, which could have used more meat and vegetables, though the flavor was still good.

For dessert, the maja blanca was just okay, it could have been richer and more flavorful. On the other hand, the breads and snacks were excellent. The uraro cookies were legit and delicious, the ube piaya was so good I wished I had bought more, and the pandesal was soft, fluffy, and fresh.

Service was mostly pleasant, the man who checked us out and the older lady who took our orders were both nice and friendly. The woman cashier, however, came across as more businesslike and not as warm.

Overall, this was a 4-star experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐. The food and baked goods were authentic and delicious, with just a few areas that could be improved.

First time ordering here since this is the closest filipino store near to my hotel. Ordered bangsilog, didnt get my utensils or vinegar and soy sauce as requested. Everything was missed on my notes. I thought that the fried rice will be cooked and made like “sinangag (garlic rice)” like a typical filipino breakfast, but it wasnt. Its so greasy, like minimize the oil you guys use in this bowl 😭

Not worth the 16.99 price.

Disappointed ☹️ ordered food trays for party, paid downpayment prior then upon picked up paid in full only to find out that they taxed the downpayment and another tax for full payment! We were not informed about the double tax! Is that right?! We felt deceived. We don’t mind paying but would like an honest transaction. Hope this would reach management, probably you do not know about it and it’s time for you to look into it!

Good filipino food! Tasty!

Love this place. My go to place for Filipino food when I am at work. My coworkers love it here too and they're NOT Filipinos. We love the combo and it's very filling. You can also get soup on the side for free. Also love their fish, egg rolls, and pancit. Just be careful as their food can be on the fatty side but most Filipino food are in the fatty side. lol. Btw, chopsticks available if needed.

UMart has a variety of filipino kakanin (sweet delicacy) that reminds me of home!

The food was absolutely delicious, especially the egg rolls which were perfectly crispy and flavorful. The customer service was also excellent. Aneth was incredibly helpful and made sure i had everything I needed. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great filipino food!
