Bummer experience. Friendly wait staff, yet that does not up for the bad food and disappointing environment.
Does not serve good food. Hot chicken sandwich served on a cold bun and dripping wet lettuce. Greasy burger, again with cold buns and dripping wet lettuce. Burnt, black greasy fries. Seafood soup that had no taste because it was a mix of incompatible items.
Does not make good use of the site. Large covered seating area outside that you can’t sit in because the heaters are not working. That means you can’t see the lake from inside because the windows are blocked by the unusable outside seating area.
No chance we’d return.

Went a few weeks ago and it was one of the last nice boating days meaning not a lot of staff but a lot of customers. With that being said, I understand the bartender being busy, but it was absolutely ridiculous. Got our first round of drinks and asked for one of the cocktails they had on special, she told me they weren’t on special anymore, but made it anyways. (Weird cause it was on the specials board) anyways, no problems there. Getting a second round of drinks was a different story. I went up to the bar and waited 10 mins for her to get to me (like I said it was busy) this was fine. What was not fine was her finally getting to me, asking me what I wanted, telling me she’d get to me next, then continue to get everybody else’s drinks who JUST walked up to the bar. After another 10 minutes of her completely ignoring me I went and sat down and my boyfriend went up to get our drinks. After him waiting for another 5 minutes trying to get her attention, she then told him she’d be right with him, then continued to do the same thing to him and get everyone else’s drinks who just walked up to the bar. It got to the point where the people behind my boyfriend in line started yelling for her to take his order since they saw all of this happening. After her not caring about that, my boyfriend started waving at her to try to get her to make eye contact with him, and she continued to ignore him until the manager finally saw him and sent her to my boyfriend. He said “hey I’m just waiting on the drinks my girlfriend ordered 20 minutes ago” and she continued to give him an attitude telling him “it’s not my fault.” After that, the people behind him heard and said “if that’s how she’s going to treat people we’re going somewhere else” and walked out.
I understand it was busy and she was probably overwhelmed, I’ve worked in the restaurant business before so I know how it goes, but telling people you’ll get to them and then completing ignoring them and making everyone else’s drinks who came after them was unacceptable. She lost the restaurant two potential customers by her being rude and not taking accountability, and as for me and my boyfriend, I can’t say this experience makes us want to come back.

This place is horrible. We have never been or going back. We came by boat. Walked up off the water to the back deck. Nobody greeted us for a table then we put 2 tables together for a family of 5. I saw a chalkboard saying order foor here or at the bar. I had to take our own order to the bar, order our food and then get a pager to pick it up! Really? The food was horrible. Burger buns were soaked with burger juice. Chicken nuggets were seriously I don't think they were chicken. The frys weren't cooked. Nobody around to talk to. So 3 cheeseburgers a flat bred pizza and six wings cost $80 dollars.

What a great place! The food was terrific the bartenders were great and the atmosphere was perfect. Highly recommend the backyard and marina. We went on a holiday weekend. There was plenty of staff available and the service was great.
Even went back a second time because we had so much fun

Under new management. Outstanding lakefront ambiance, sort of a divey getaway. Tasty snack/sandwich food in a relaxing summer lakefront atmosphere. Don't go there for the service.
Parking: Definitely an out of the way location...difficult to find, but worth the effort.

I would give this place 0 stars but due to the fact they updated their chairs and tables 1 star is required. We went based of the lake view and amazing outside patio... come to find out we need to get menus ourselves, order food from one location and drinks from another, with seperate tickets. They need to step up, when dining on the lake servers and service is expected.
New menu with an upgrade to the standard lunch bar choices. We had pork tacos and a tuna melt on Texas toast. Both were delicious. This coupled with the atmosphere, water view and a very friendly bartender made for a great afternoon. Definitely will be back.
Update! FIRST we came back as a family in the evening for a beautiful sunset and great atmosphere and was met with no service /only self-service, which means you order at the bar, your own drinks and your food, which is ordered at a table off to the side. You will run back-and-forth for a water refill, drinks, or even napkins. The food options are limited for dinner. The evening we were there was a beautiful one and there was no staff to assist. (Only 1)I had to wait to order a drink at the bar and order my food.. first run to the bar for an appetizer, and then our dinner. The bartender was very kind and did her best but she was taking food orders as well as drinks. It’s a different feeling than having a couple of drinks at the bar. I’m not sure that will ever be back for more than the sunset and a few drinks. when I asked the owner if this was a short term service model, a unique evening, staffing, was told that this may not be the restaurant for me. Wishing the best for the new owners, however I suggest taking into consideration as a customer you’ll be doing all of your own work…. As for me, if I’m doing the running, I’d rather stay home and serve my family there.

A hidden gem! Service was fantastic. Food was great. View was amazing. They blew up the bounce house for our toddler and we finally got to enjoy a meal in peace! Awesome place for kids! 100% would come here again!
This used to be an awesome place, so I was confident the rebrand to The Backyard would hold the same standards as the Lake House. Unfortunately it is a miss. There are no servers present. You need to order food from a make shift counter and order drinks from the bar on a separate tab. They will give you a buzzer and when it goes off you need to pick up your order from the "counter". The food is mediocre at best. I had the pot stickers and a burger. The pot stickers had no flavor what so ever. The burger was overcooked and lacked seasoning. Everything was served in paper baskets and on a school house lunch tray. When I visited it was 89 degrees outside. The thermostat at the end of the inside bar read 85 degrees. For the prices they charge, and beautiful location, I was expecting more (and maybe little air-conditioning).

The food was acceptable, but I would not go back. The Thai Chicken Nuggets were a chicken breast cut up into quarter to half dollar sized pieces and tempura breaded and fried. Chicken was VERY dry. The Thai Rice Bowl was ok, but the Shredded Pork sauce was pretty spicy.
You sit yourself, then you order your food & drinks at the counter inside the building. You take your drinks back to your table & someone brings your food to you when it's ready. If you want more food or drink you go back inside to order it.
The view onto the lake was incredible, but the food wasn't that good and we definitely won't be returning.
