I have frequented this place and the food is good, however, the service is not that great. I love my people but lack of organization is a problem. Today is Sunday 11/17/24 and I called multiple times and the phone went straight to voicemail and mentioned being open T-Sun 11-7p.. they did not mention they would be closed today. I drive out there hoping it was just a phone issue, only to see that it was closed. I don’t know if it’s because of a lack of help or what.. but this is ridiculous! There should be some form of communication if they are going to be closed or not. Food is great, but when the business/professional side is lacking, that can negatively impact the longevity of a place. I’m disappointed.

This place was fun. Happen to be a bday party that was going. Food was great. Had the jerk chicken Philly and a piece of catfish. Absolutely fire. Mac N Cheese fire, okra fire. Sweet tea on point. Highly recommend.

Delicious soul food. Friendly staff. The wait time was reasonable for the quality of food that you're getting. I'd rather wait longer for good cooking. Portions were good. A little more cornbread please. Lol!

Ho-Lee-Chit!
Soon as I pulled into the lot, the odor hit me, my mouth started watering, and my stomach was getting excited.. Didn't do the daily special that smelled so good, but I did have an amazing lunch! Catfish Po'boy was fried right, fresh tomatoes and delicious remoulade, and the greens were so good I about licked the bowl clean! I'm always going to cherish Family Choice & Miss Vicky behind the counter, but these folks have brought something back to Joliet it's been without for far to long..
Only problem is, they aren't just A Touch of Soul..
They're the whole damn thing....
GET YOU SOME!.!.!

Ok I usually don't do reviews. Since im in the area decide to try a new spot. It looked good BUT the greens were not southern, I don't know what seasoning they used but they need to retry it redo it and stop plzzzz..And Secondly to me is the worst is the yams....OMG NO FLAVOR AT ALL..To me that was worse part of the meal. I would come back if they change the greens and yams recipe plzzzzzz. Oh the fish was the best put of the 3. Fried perfectly and seasoned well. Also the muffin was good. If you need a new recipe for the yams and greens reach out to me and I will help you the best way I can.

It is impossible for me to find all of the words to describe how happily my soul jumped after my first bite each and every dish we tried. There is truly no exaggeration to when the guest there say anything you get you won’t forget.

Hot damn I mean even the air in there tasted good when I went to pick it up…. All of the delivery apps need to get their sh*t together and have this place added because if I could get this food delivered I’ll just start forwarding my pay checks to this restaurant so they can have all my meals of the week ready in advance.

I am beyond ready to go back and try the next dish and might just be going there again tonight for dinner so I don’t have to cook. Their candy yams? ? are utterly outrageous, the Hennessy sauce wings are tangy and tantalizing and let’s not even start with how flavorful, flaky and soft the catfish fillets were plus they’re boneless so easy and safe to eat had my dad asking for the restaurants phone number and if they can just serve us a tray of the catfish itself.

The greens ? were good as well as the Mac and cheese but personally I would pick a different side than the Mac and cheese because the candy yams were way too good and even the greens slapped to not be my momma’s greens so I would just be too caught up with two other sides even though the Mac and cheese here is very good it would simply just be for personal preference.

I don’t know how else to say it beyond if you know , you know!!!

It’d be nothing short but a shame to not know about l oh very hidden gem ? of Joliet !!!

I’m talking about the food this heavy because it was slap ?? ya momma good and I only say it because even my own momma had to agree with me. Beyond the food you can’t find customer service so tender and fully present to their customers than you will find here as they really rake their time speaking to their guests and ask multiple times if anyone needs anything as well as the welcoming greetings when you walk in.

I loved the modern diner aesthetic here as it only added to the home good southern hospitality and soul feeling you get when you just feel you need to get a visit back to home. I really love this hidden gem ? I found and my whole family as well as myself are new fans for sure !!!

It will be very hard to find anything else as special as this place as they were even nice to me little purse pup? that waited with me.

Last but not least when I say that there is a massive difference between genuine substance and quality versus ? convenience and disingenuous service, although a commenter on here was very right and helpful that it is a time saver to call and place your order for pick up ahead of time as to save individuals from waiting for the order to be prepared. I would advise calling your order in ahead to help you with the wait time, however, it is unreasonable to put timeframe expectations on an actual meal being handcuffed for you reheated from a Harley process conveyor belt, and plastic bag.

Sometimes individuals need to understand that a home-cooked meal that contains actual ingredients will also require time and diligence to homestyle meal to be done in 20 minutes or less is questionable and I would always doubt the integrity and quality of it to order. Is it to the restaurant so I was just caution people to be mindful and plan ahead when ordering. That way individuals can reduce their likelihood of being upset if they have to wait for their order to come out

Personally, I enjoyed my wait time, even though it was only 10 to 15 minutes. It was nice to converse with some of the staff about the different items on their menu above and beyond highly recommend this establishment.

We tried this place for the first time today, and it was really nice.

It reminded me of the food my dad used to make us when I was a kid. My dad spent much of his childhood in the south, and it was like stepping into a Time Machine. The fried Okra was so good, and I always forget how delicious banana pudding tastes. It actually made me kind of sad that I didn’t appreciate the okra more when I was a kid. The macaroni was so perfectly cheesy, and the corn bread was really good—pleasantly sweet but not too sweet. I kept revisiting the pudding for seconds after I got home, too. Everything had perfect flavor and texture. The service was very good and friendly. You should definitely stop by.

This was my husband and I’s first time trying out All That And A Touch of Soul. We were not disappointed! We were greeted right when we walked in the door and given a rundown of the week’s specials. My husband’s brisket was smoked to perfection and my catfish was fried hard to my asking. The sweet potato pound cake was amazing! We will be regulars.
