Al’s is an institution but what I want to talk about is the rack of lamb. I’ve had lamb a lot of places most recently Morton’s, Gibsons and Hinsdale steakhouse. Al’s is $20-30 a plate cheaper, comes with the best double baked potato you’ve ever had and the lamb is better tasting and better chef preparation than these other places. For less money. I think Al’s rack of lamb and the pizza at Salernos on the Fox in St. Charles the two best meal values in Chicagoland...
Epiphany was our server and she was very friendly and welcoming, my partner and I had a wonderful dinner, the atmosphere was great, and I found everything on the menu to be very enticing. Would recommend for a good dining experience, pleasure or business.
From outside this place doesn’t look like much. I wish the outside was as elegant as the inside is.
Been going here for almost 20 years now. Moved away and came back and this is one of my favorite spots.
