Great atmosphere and cool building and grounds. The owner was very personable, knowledgeable and friendly. The wine and homemade tapenade were fantastic! We loved the cabernet and petit verdot, especially the 2018 smokey cabernet. We are taking some home for sure! The flights were a great value for the amount of wine and price. We sat out back on the deck and loved our time here. Definitely check this place out when you're in town!

Enjoyed the complexity and earthy tones of the Cabernet, as well as the pizza and charcuterie board. Was surprised by a band Louie’s Trio and their wonderful tunes filling the evening.

Definitely worth checking out once, I won’t be back though because it’s overly priced imo. I understand small businesses need to make money, but wine was mediocre. I love wine tastings but there are a lot of better options, significantly cheaper, with much better wine I’d go to instead in the future. The castle and history are unique but that’s not enough for me.

What a great time we experienced at Bishop's Castle ! First off, it truly IS a castle. ..take a tour...it's history is amazing. But you're going there for the wine. Linda, the sommelier, is knowledgeable and all the award winning wines she presented were outstanding ? come here with a couple or a crowd.. you will NOT Be disappointed... So fun!

Magnificent setting for a bit of time hiding from life's hubbub. We sat in the "library," gazing at classics behind glass, a pretty fireplace, and nice views out the window. We did the flight of 4 wines. Nice options for food to go with wine.. We'll be back!

Second time here for the Wine 101 class with Linda. Her passion for wine (and this wine specifically) is so contagious. It makes me want to take more classes! Her vivid descriptors and ways to educate all levels of wine connoisseurs is so amazing! We got to chat with the winemaker Damon, and learned even more about the history of the property and Joliet. Such a cool experience! Can’t wait to be back again.
