Unexpected Excellent Mexican food. Fresh, and super delicious. I did not enjoyed the fried Ice cream but that's on my taste buds. We ordered burrito and enchiladas, and both of us wiped clean the plates....
Service was ok. Was not really a big fan of it, I asked for frozen margarita and it just looked like they crushed ice and just pour it in the cup. I am from NYC and that is not how it's served here. The server was nice but the bar tender could have smiled more and have a better attitude from the look of it he does not enjoy that job.
Also you want amazing tacos Al pastor and carne asada? Just come to this place ASAP!!! My daughters and I loved their fresh tasting ingredients. I look forward to coming back and enjoying their drinks.
It's really a 4.5 but that wasn't a choice. We wanted AUTHENTIC Mexican... and this was it. You don't get food like this at LaMex! Everything was superb.... slightly cold and foamy marg made from scratch... the rice was amazing. I had the steak Katrina and was tender, juicy and perfect temp. It got busy around 6 and service dropped off... but all in all... very good... We will be back and bring friends.
Amazing authentic Mexican food! Check out their specialty item the Conchita pilbil (sp?) was an unforgettable experience . Great service , clean spacious establishment. If you have been waiting to try them, just do it !
Best Mexican Restaurant in town! So close to moms kitchen. We love the environment and of course the food! This is definitely a family favorite! La mejor comida Mexicana! Definitely recommend.
This was our first time visiting this restaurant. It was pretty east getting a table for two since the place was not busy at all. There were only a few tables with guests. The place was a bit too cold for me. They brought chips and salsa like most Mexican restaurants do. The salsa was very good, I am very picky about my salsa, this one was to my liking. The chips were a bit too greasy for me. We Ceviche as an appetizer and our main meal at the same time. It took a while for our Ceviche to arrive, but when it did, it didn't disappoint us, it was very good. I ordered the Cochinita Pibil, which is a big item on their menu, I didn't kill the chef though, it was good, but not that GOOD. My husband ordered Tampiqueña dinner, it came with enchiladas, rice and Charro beans. He liked the meat, it was cooked to his liking and he said it had good flavor. Overall, the food was good, the service??well could be better, it took too long for our food, considering they were not very busy..oh and one more thing, You've probably have heard of "Mexico, one plate at a time"..they take that literally, the wait staff totally brings your food, one plate at a time. I didn't see any of them using trays to carry the plates all at once. I'll give it 4 stars and promise to go back, perhaps next time they have fixed some of the things I mentioned..
great tacos!! friendly and accommodating staff. wonderful service, short wait time for food. and the food was incredible. authentic and delicious. great bar with great speciality drinks, made from scratch, not using mixes. highly recommended!!
Was seated and waited ten plus minutes with both servers and what appeared to be the manager/owner ignoring us. We finally left and they all saw us go and had no inclination to ask why. The food look great but no idea how you actually get to order it.

Dined there during the week, 90 minutes before closing. The dining area was modern, with a clean, hip look and ambient contemporary music (not traditional Mexican music). The selection was acceptable and typical for Mexican cuisine. Had the appetizers queso fundido and guac dip. The queso fundido is melted cheeses with chorizo and cilantro served with soft flour tortillas. It was pretty good and would order again. The guac however, was creamer than any other I have had, possibly because it was made with sour cream? I didn't much care for it. I had the Chicken mole enchiladas. The platter came with Mexican rice and refried beans. The mole was exceptionally sweet, almost desert like, I found it a little off putting and could not get past the first few bites. The rice looked great but was unremarkable and the refried bean were as expected. My date had the carne Asada. It was a good, nice, juicy, thick cut made medium rare and was nicely seasoned. It came with side of Charro beans, a soupy mixture of pinto beans with onion, garlic, cilantro, and beacon. The charro beans had a distinctive good flavor. The service was as expected. The price was on the higher side, two appetizers, two drinks (sodas) and two dinner platters were approximately $67. This seems to be on the higher side but I will let you determine that. The parking is behind the building with a sign that said there was additional parking across the street. I can envision a traffic nightmare during rush periods, it sits right next to a tight corner with one side of the establishment on a one-way street, so plan accordingly. I will definitely revisit this place again to try other selections.
Wifes meal was served before our 1st (and ultimately only) round of drinks were brought out. She had to send it back, it was cold. Waitress was ok. Chips and salsa was decent but not very spice. My meal was great.
Amazing Food ! Definitely recommend
