Our server, Kathy, was superb. Our meals were nearly perfect. The wine list was a disappointment, as some very inexpensive wines were priced 3X+ retail. Parking is challenging, but not their fault, as downtown is undergoing a major, much needed renovation.

The atmosphere was incredible. Loved the soft jazz music in the background. The food was amazing. My boyfriend and I went there for our anniversary dinner. The appetizer we had was fillet nuggets with a bernaise sauce. I had a 12-oz NY strip with garlic mashed potatoes. My boyfriend had a bison filet topped with blue cheese and garlic mashed. At the end of the meal, we received a molten lava cake as a gift. We would definitely eat there again.

The food here is always delicious. It's a splurge because it's costly but well worth it for date night especially. The Bison fillet is delish and definitely order it with a side of mushrooms. The Aged filet is also delish.

We were there celebrating my birthday - all the food was fantastic, our waitress was awesome, and they even turned the music down when we asked to accommodate a family member with sensitive hearing. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough

We had questions and John had answers. It was still an early, slow time and John was an exceptional coach and so enjoyed imparting his culinary knowledge. One of us ordered a beer and it was just so-so temperature and when we reordered another we requested it cold and it was done. John said he would request a cold one from in the back of the cooler and it was definitely COLD this time and served in a chilled glass. Got educated and tried some new things! Keep up the good work.

The food and service was outstanding. We had to ask for the music to be turned down, as it was too loud for conversation. Mind you, this was piped in music, NOT live. I hope they reconsider the levels, because everything else was fantastic.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and loved everything about it! Vickie was our server for the night and she helped make our dinner that much more spectacular with her attitude, attention and kindness. And the food! It was the best steak we've ever had!! It just melted in your mouth and had so much flavor. Vickie asked right away if we were celebrating anything that night and she was so quick to wish us a very happy anniversary. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, here comes Vickie with a big smile on her face as she hands us a dessert menu and asks us to choose something as the restaurant wanted to celebrate us and gift us a free dessert which was absolutely delicious and thoughtful. The slice of cheesecake was plated in the middle with a heart made from chocolate and strawberry puree on each side and a beautiful candle/firework right in the middle of the slice. It was almost too pretty and perfect to cut into. My husband likes to rate his Old Fashion drinks and by the first sip he said that was the best one he's ever had and would happily drive the 2 hours for another. From making the reservation to the service and most definitely the food, this place really outdid themselves with the quality of service they provide. It is safe to say that we will be celebrating our anniversary every year at Chop 158 Steakhouse from here on out!

This was the first time I was disappointed with the steak. I ordered a filet and to my surprise it had fat that I had to cut off. Whenever I want a steak, I order a filet knowing there is no visible pieces of fat. I do this because I cannot eat fat. This turned me off on the meal. First time visit but definitely NOT our last! We celebrated our anniversary and such a great choice. The ambiance is upscale, absolutely lovely. Vicki our server and the extra staff were so friendly. I wanted a glass of red wine and their wine list was very extensive-i didnt know which to pick. Vicki gave me a couple of samples to help narrow it down- how sweet!!🥰 We had the 30 day dry aged ribeye-it was absolutely delicious. Tender, flavorful, cooked to my (medium rare) absolute perfection. We eat in Chicago a lot and steaks here definitely can go head to head with the more well known steakhouses! And to top off a sweet date night , we were given a complimentary delicious chocolate lava cake. Cut 158 made me smile from ear to ear with each succulent bite. A must visit! Your taste buds will thank you 😉🥩😋
