First time visit but definitely NOT our last! We celebrated our anniversary and such a great choice. The ambiance is upscale, absolutely lovely. Vicki our server and the extra staff were so friendly. I wanted a glass of red wine and their wine list was very extensive-i didnt know which to pick. Vicki gave me a couple of samples to help narrow it down- how sweet!!🥰 We had the 30 day dry aged ribeye-it was absolutely delicious. Tender, flavorful, cooked to my (medium rare) absolute perfection. We eat in Chicago a lot and steaks here definitely can go head to head with the more well known steakhouses! And to top off a sweet date night , we were given a complimentary delicious chocolate lava cake. Cut 158 made me smile from ear to ear with each succulent bite. A must visit! Your taste buds will thank you 😉🥩😋

The server was not attentive at all. It took an extended period of time for 1 glass of wine (party of 2). The oysters Rockefeller were good at best. Our salads never came, neither did our server. 35 mins later our food showed up. I told the food runner our salads never showed. He took our meal back to the kitchen to sit under a heat lamp ($75 surf and turf). Wedge was good, but over-dressed and the Caesar salad had a sour taste. They returned our meal to the table and the scallops were like rubber. My daughter eats her filet well-done, so other than it being extra-dry, it was edible for her. The side of asparagus was so cold the parmesan cheese garnish never melted. Hugo, the GM, apologized and said he'd bring a dessert at no-charge. Still zero attention from the server—about 6 tables in the whole place, that's it — 2 of which she had. The server did finally show and brought a dessert with a sparkler for my daughter, which made her happy. The chocolate peanut butter cake was very rich, but decent. The strawberry garnish was the best part. I had to go to hostess stand for my check bc the server yet again never returned. They brought the check, but to my surprise they charged us for bread and a split entree plate ($5), neither of which were disclosed. All in, it took 1hour and 45mins, despite me telling them my daughter had a 7am start time for dance. I would not return. Hugo did take the salads off the check and waived the dessert then added bread and split plate charges.

Everything literally melts in your mouth! If I could give 6 stars I would.

This place is price gouging customers - Their prices are higher than downtown Chicago and the food isn't better. 4 people for dinner (2 couples) $640. 2 drinks each, some oyster, 2 spilt salads, 2 shared deserts and 1 entree each. Ridiculous. Waitress also added gratuity to the bill automatically (which is common for 6,8 or more people but never for a 4 top). Presumptive, overpriced, and not worth it. You can have much better food, better service lots of places for much cheaper. The food was good, but the owners are obviously taking advantage of people and the rocky market conditions. Won't go back.

Our server Vicki was phenomenal! We were celebrating two birthdays and she took great care of us while dining in. The timing of food was perfect and she checked in with us throughout the meal to make certain we were enjoying ourselves! Martinis and Old Fashions are always a must while at Cut and they never disappoint! Dinner between the four of us was a bison filet, New York strip and lamb chops... all excellent! And ALWAYS upgrade to the double baked potato, Cut has the best! Overall we love coming to Cut for date nights and special occasions because we are always well taken care of. Thank you!

Went here on a date night with the wife. Drinks were tasty and we had crab cakes and Oysters Rockefeller for appetizers which were great. She had the 10oz filet mignon which was cooked to order and very good. I had the garlic rubbed Rack of Lamb which was probably one of the best rack of lambs I ever had. Dessert we split a chocolate peanut butter cake type dessert. Very tasty and rich. Will definitely be coming back

We sat at the bar near the wait staff pick up for drinks. Bartender Shannon came and asked sort of rudely, do you want a drink or food. We replied both. After a lengthy discussion about how to make a skinny margarita, we received our drinks. In the next 30 minutes we continuely overheard the wait staff complaining about the bartender. We actually had to move to the other side of the bar, to get away from the drama. We don't have the chance to go out often, so needless to say this ruined our evening. After moving our seats we talked to several other people who were having issues with the bartender also. Tried to order another drink was ignored, finally another employee came and took our order. Then 5 minutes later Shannon came with a drink we didn't order from him. This person is not cut out for working with the public, very rude and unfriendly. Not qualities you want in a bartender. Sad to say last time we ever come here again.

1st time...We will be back...was expecting the steak to be the star of the show... but sadly it was a supporting actor...a good one but certainly not the star. Everything else was exceptional... sat at the bar and had great service...

Let me just start off with saying that restaurant, is a a true gem. From the time we walked in we were greeted with warm smiles and welcomes. We arrived a little early and they were able to sit us early which was a plus(Thank you to the host). The ambiance is so beautiful. Modern with a little classic. Our server Vicki was OUTSTANDING. She went over the menu items and the specials. She explained everything to us and thanked us for dining with them even before we ordered. She was so attentive and kind. She made sure we were satisfied with our food. Now let's get into the food. The food was absolutely 10/10. My husband got the grilled chicken with shrimp, garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus which he kept stating was truly favorable. I had the 6 oz filet mignon with garlic mashed potatoes as well as asparagus which was phenomenal. I also got a side salad before my meal which was amazing. The Jazz music set the tone for such a beautiful place and a wonderful staff. The staff was so welcoming and patient. Manuel one of the head managers was so kind as well and told us anything he could do to let him know .It's hard finding a nice date night spot that has outstanding ambiance and food. But Cut 159 Chophouse you definitely set the standards high and exceeded our expectations. We will be back again and spread the word to who doesn't know about this remarkable establishment. Thank you so much!

Had the ahi tuna appetizer along with the grilled calamari, octopus and shrimp dish. The octopus was very good and tender. All had great flavor. Some pieces of the calamari were a little chewier than others but its no big deal. I had the bison filet which had great flavor and was cooked perfect and was very tender and red potatoes as my side. Not pictured is the ny strip with scallops and a crab cake. The crab cake was one of the best ones due to it not being all breadcrumbs and actually had crab. Scallops were cooked great. The steak being a ny strip wasn't the most tender but it had great flavor and was cooked to how it was ordered. Wasn't expecting a ny strip to be like a filet so its understandable since it's two different levels of quality of meat.

Oh and carrot cake was delicious. 😁

White tablecloths, beautiful decor, excellent service, and most importantly delicious food. Oyster Rockefeller !!! My husband had the peach pork chop. The best he's ever tasted. Pricing is very reasonable. Ohhhhh..... OLD FASHIONS were perfect. We try to go twice a month. It's our favorite restaurant. Please patronize them, they are struggling with construction across the street. I promise you won't be disappointed. It our date night go to!
