Disappointing and Disheartening Experience at Longshots Bar and Grill
I am deeply disappointed and outraged by my recent experience at Longshots Bar and Grill in Julia, Illinois. As a disabled individual who relies on a registered service animal, I expect to be treated with dignity and respect — unfortunately, that was not the case here.
The owner I believe his name is Raymond,and her staff unlawfully denied me entry simply because I was accompanied by my service animal. This blatant violation of my civil rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is unacceptable and deeply disconcerting. Service animals are not pets—they are essential for my safety and independence.
Furthermore, I was appalled to discover that none of the bathrooms are handicap accessible. This blatant disregard for accessibility shows a complete lack of respect and consideration for disabled patrons, and it reflects a disturbing attitude towards those with disabilities. It’s clear that Longshots Bar and Grill has a blatant disrespect for individuals who are differently-abled, and this kind of discrimination has no place in our community.
I strongly urge the management to educate themselves on the legal rights of disabled patrons, to improve accessibility, and to treat everyone with the dignity they deserve. Discrimination and neglect like this not only harm individuals like myself but also perpetuate ignorance and prejudice.
I sincerely hope that the management takes this matter seriously and makes the necessary changes to ensure no other disabled person faces similar treatment. Everyone deserves equal access, respect, and dignity, regardless of their disabilities or the presence of a service animal.

This is a big bar with a stage too. They have pool tables and the bar has a good shape to it. I recommend this style bar for going out with friends.

I was sitting on the outside patio bar area and was approached by a bar tender and ask what was I doing here I replied with a respectful conversation and she walked off but I feel my skin color had something to do with it I was having a drink with a employee of the establishment and was still harassed

I lived 4 blocks away from 2008-2015 and was a regular. Other than the time I was asleep I probably spent about 50% of my waking hours here. My favorite bar of all time!! My best friend Kelly was also by far the best bartender EVER! 3 days a week that's where you could find me. I haven't lived in Joliet since 2015 and probably the only thing I miss was Dr J shots with Kelly and pizza and dollar bottles. It was called barcode before a very long remodel and then the amazing longshots! Great jukebox!! Good times!!! Miss you!!!

We only stopped by to use the bathroom on our way to Michigan, had we had more time I would have definitely ordered a drink and stuck around to play many of their bar games they had avaliable as well as slot machines. Looked like they had plenty of space to dance around on the weekends. I would go check it out if you were thinking about it.

John one of the managers was great. The rest of the wait staff was friendly and on point. No ones drink went dry. Wings were bigger than most local spots. Great bar.
No shot at playing pool unless you’re in the APA pool league. All tables used and even then you can’t approach. “You have to go through someone running the tournament”. I totally respect the environment. Nothing against it.
I came to play pool , tough luck for me. I understand it though.
Very very nice place. Very friendly staff. Just don’t plan on playing.

Nice place , Awesome shop inside for pool needs. Biggest downside is that they have Pool League almost every day so getting a pool table after 5 is impossible. So if you don’t play on the League , find somewhere else to go. they have a ton of tables but they’re literally all filled constantly.

Went there for the first time. The food is just regular bar food. Drinks were good. I loved the wibe and the atmosphere. The pool tables had long waiting times, so we didn't play. I like that they open till after midnight. Will definitely start going to Longshots more.
