We were lucky to find this gem with so many Mexican restaurants to choose from in the area. The server was friendly and thorough, willing to give suggestions. The margarita was fantastic and the food was fresh and delicious. We found out that Maria, the owner, was the one lovingly making the authentic food in the kitchen. She loves her restaurant and it shows in EVERYTHING! The tables, the chairs and the art work, the stools, but mainly in her food. Don’t, literally, pass this...

I was doing a cross-country trip in a UHaul, and as a vegan I try to plan my stopovers around restaurants with vegan options so when I saw Luna Mexicana I planned one of the stopovers to be in Joliet and I'm so glad I did. The food was the best vegan Mexican I've ever had in any city, I don't know what kind of brujeria they do in the kitchen but it was magical. Basically they can make any of their items with ingredients from a really long list of vegan options....
