Pay your staff legally. Stop cheating.
Four of us from Dwight ate there Thursday night. Everything was outstanding. The pork chops were well seasoned and moist. My veal and smashed sweet potato was to die for. And the bread pudding was delicious. Missed several items on the menu, I will be back. Kudos to you and your staff for a fantastic evening!

Absolutely incredible food that caught me pleasantly off guard as I wandered in one evening. It’s attached to a really fun bar which I went to afterwards. A great surprise.

This very underwhelming cesspool of a restaurant does not comply with Illinois nor federal payroll laws. As a result, the minors who unfortunately work there are not being paid a payroll check that demonstrates taxes are being withheld respectively. Thus, I have reported Mag to the state of Illinois and the IRS so that her payroll can be audited, and she can pay the fines for her lack of compliance. Then maybe this awful human being can learn the hard way how the law works when it comes after her broke restaurant. I laughed when she admitted to paying minors up to five days late. What a moron. Confessing to illegal payroll practices as though that employee would not be entitled to the late fee each day the pay is late. And this is because she was asked to do the right thing, but of course she is allergic to doing anything right. This place should close because clearly she is incapable of very basic standards. Maybe I need to also reach out to the sales tax division and the city to have them join to make sure they get their cut, as well. If she’s not paying her payroll liabilities on time, and I doubt this person can add, then is she doing anything else right? The owner is an uncouth drunkard who becomes intoxicated while she is working, classy. She terminates minors because she simply feels like it because she is too broke to pay her payroll liabilities. Discrimination, also. She is pretending like there is an issue with their work performance, but really she is just broke. Then she says, “Illinois is a right to fire state,” which is the same idiotic and incorrect thing all guilty employers use when they break federal employment laws. When employees know their rights, employers are held accountable. It’s time that she is held accountable. It may appear that labor laws are not enforced, but when people complain about how their payroll is late and their pay is incorrectly calculated they will be enforced. I don’t know who this lady thinks the IRS is, but they are very easy to reach about compliance. I hope numerous complaints happen from all the wronged and exploited minors who have had the misfortune of working there. This restaurant has no business existing. The food is very subpar, the building is a hole in the wall, and the manager is a drunk slob and a con. Every single person affected by this woman needs to file a case with the EEOC with tons of documentation recounting their negative labor experience under Mag. Write down all of the times she was late with payroll, write down every time she was unprofessional, write down how that made you feel. Did she discriminate against you because you have a disability? Did she discriminate against you because of your age? Does she create a hostile work environment? Does she harass her staff? Does she retaliate against her staff when asking for accommodations? All of that needs to be recorded and dated. Apparently she needs to get sued so she can understand what she is doing. It would also help that everyone should file a complaint with the federal government and the Illinois department of revenue. She needs to be shut down because she can’t afford operations. She can’t pay her staff on time, and that is illegal, period. Let’s all go after this unethical workplace. They don’t deserve your money

I have eaten here three times in the last month. I have not gotten an entree from the main menu yet, because I have gotten the daily specials. Oh so yummy. The soups are to die for. Oh, the fried xl shrimp was a daily special, and now it is on the main menu. Oh, I was wrong, I got the chicken tenders from the app. They are HUGE!!!!!
I always visit a place twice before reviewing. The first time was great, the second even better! The food is excellent, the filet melts in your mouth. They have daily specials based on what the owner finds at the market. I know this because she came over to chat. Such a nice woman, we even learned we're neighbors! Highly recommend!

The food is incredible. I had a hamburger with grilled mushrooms on brioche bun and Cole slaw. It sounds simple yet it was best hamburger I've had in many years. The slaw was large cut with kale and a delicious dressing. Clearly the chef's own created dressing. The gently fried scallops had a rare delicious flavor and tasted very fresh. The original artwork on the walls enhanced the lovely atmosphere. I can no longer tolerate the loud sounds from a band, so I'm glad they didn't start up until we were finished. I will add, though, the band was clearly made up of talented rock professionals. The owner was delightful, sat down with us for a few moments to explain her fine menu. I really am looking forward to go there on a repeating basis. ?

The barbecue flatbread was plated as a large portion, and featured an incredible flavor profile alongside some excellent textures for a very enjoyable experience. The friendly service and lovely decor added to a great atmosphere for an intimate late lunch with family.
