Extremely rude service. My goodness. I called just to double check if they are open on Thanksgiving and whoever answered the phone talked down to me, raised his voice, was impatient and was extremely rude, then ended it with "so you want to order something or no?" Not worth your time.** Since I cannot respond to your comment, I appreciate your kind response NOW but that is not how you spoke on the phone. It was very uncomfortable right off the bat. I was ready to order but you were hostile before I could even try. I understand where you're coming from, but you were very rude and I don't appreciate that you're acting kind on your reviews to cover that up. Next time be more respectful to your customers. Just reading the reviews could have helped me avoid this guy, he’s obviously very rude and doesn’t care at all about customer service. The night I came in after a 10 hour OTR shift, I walked to this restaurant in the cold and was immediately greeted with a very nasty attitude. I understood what he was saying but thought it came across very obnoxious and rude. I wanted to eat here but was afraid of what he might do to my food after the attitude he gave me. Later, I was talking causally about this place to another trucker and he had the same exact experience and then I get on here to leave a review and I see the same issue here as well. Don’t give your money to a business that doesn’t care about the community. ¡¡Sharks and Babas are close by and have the same food and better customer service!!

So I decided to stop by this place after work to grab some jumbo shrimp and some catfish for the wifey and I for dinner, the first thing that hit me when I walked in the door was the horrible smell, strike#1 at that point I probably should have just turned around and left but I didn't, as I proceeded to place my order I was told that only call in orders were being accepted because of the pandemic so I returned to my car and called to place my order, when I got someone on the phone I couldn't get past how rude and disrespectful the person was while taking my order, but once again I placed the order anyway in spite of that , strike #2. I went in approximately 20 minutes later to pay for the odor and the rude and disrespectful treatment continued I got the food and went home to enjoy a nice dinner with the wife and when I opened the jump shrimp and took a bite it was completely rotten and slimy I was sick to my stomach I immediately called to inform Them of the issue and what I got from them was more rudeness and more disrespect I was told that the food was not bad and that they would not refund or replace anything, we went back and forth for a while and finally they said that they would replace half the order and I said to them why would we eat anything from this restaurant if we got rotten food, now mind you I had never been to this particular JJ fish before, strike #3. I had to call the Joliet non emergency number to request for a unit to meet me at the restaurant so that I could prove that the food was bad and that I was being treated horribly so an officer did meet me there and "he" was able to return the food and get my money back. So without going on to much longer I just want to warn the entire community of this place they don't deserve our business horrible horrible horrible experience. If I could give them negative 5 stars I would please avoid this place and trust me there are plenty of reputable and professional restaurants in the area for us to choose from not these people. And I do plan to call the health department first thing Monday morning to file a complaint about the smell.

I visited this location the sign on the door said order online or call in to order before entering. I saw the cashier and he signaled me to call in and I nodded. I looked at the menu sign through the window then got back in the car and looked thorugh the menu online. When I called in to order, he answered and said we're closed. I responded I'm sitting right here you just told me to call in and he again said we're closed. Mind you the open sign and all lights were on. This was my fist time trying to come to this restaurant and I will never try to go back.

Terrible place with extremely poor customer service. They are super rude when they make mistakes on your food. I purchased 9 chicken wings from them asked for no lemon pepper and ordered mild sauce. Received wings covered in lemon pepper and received hot sauce. Called the store and the guy was extremely rude. I'm never going there again!!! If you want to be talked to crazy after they make a mistake on your food, have at it!

I used to love this place and was a regular, but after the way I was treated today I will never support their business again. I just walked in to place a carry out order and the guy working there had a terrible attitude with me and told me to leave because they only do call-in carry-out orders now. I wouldn’t have minded if he had done so in a polite and courteous way, but he was rude and aggressive. The restaurant was shockingly dirty and smelled horrible. It really breaks my heart when places that used to be so welcoming turn into something so uninviting. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would, but that isn’t an option.

Now this place is on point. First you should call in your order, compliments to the chef. Fried chicken wings, catfish and onion rings are on point. you have various combos to choose from.
The food is delicious. I especially loved their Whiting fish, hot sauce, and fried zucchini.

Picked up an order at 6:50pm asked if the 40 wings could be ready around 6:30pm. Store owner called me and said the order was ready at 6:15pm and he had 50 orders ahead of me. So with that being said the food should be fresh. Got home with my food and the wings were completely cold each wing filled with blood and completely stale. Called and spoke with the owner and he was very rude saying the wings were fresh and hung up on me. Never once did I get rude or disrespectful but he was very unprofessional. He told me he doesn’t guarantee satisfaction. What a great way to run a business. If I were you I wouldn’t order here because obviously they can’t handle large orders or unhappy customers. Trying to support businesses during this pandemic and this is the thanks I get. Horrible service..

I'm from Mississippi and NOTHING can top our fried fish especially catfish. But JJs is absolutely DELICIOUS. it's addictive too. I've gone as many as 4 times in a week. Great portions. Well seasoned. Tip: place your order online for much faster service

I went here for the first time today, the store smelled horrible and that should have been my clue to cancel my order and leave. I ordered and brought it home, fish was hard, chicken wasn't fresh. I would not advise anyone to eat there until operational changes are made. I had to throw the food away and did not have time to return to location, very disappointed but hopefully they will make appropriate changes and things can turn around for the better.
