I came here for dinner on a business trip, not a great place to eat, food was not good. The soup was so bad I didn't get past the first spoonful, the fried rice was the worst I have had at any Hibachi. Every other grain of rice was a diced onion overwhelming the flavor, shrimp was not cooked through and made me sick the next day even though I only ate one piece. Waste of money and now I'm sick while traveling. Staff was nice and responsive so I can't give 1 star.

Their food is incredible and service is stellar. Highly recommend opting for the extra charge to get the fried rice!

Great food and service but the atmosphere needs a bit of work since it’s dated. Still one of our favorite restaurants to dine in and I’d recommend it to almost anyone.

Doing my best to be balanced in this. Of the scores of Japanese steakhouses around Chicago, where I've had the pleasure of dining, I must rank this place at the bottom. I'll 1st mention that the filet was practically perfect. The drinks tasted as if there was zero alcohol present. The fried rice had zero flavor. The mustard sauce also had no flavor. The ginger sauce was a bit too intense. The vegetables were not fully cooked. Three hundred seventy dollars were spent on 5 people. Those funds could've fed 15 people at Shake Shack, which is expensive enough, but everyone would have loved the food there. This place is simply too expensive, while at the same time being cheap, cheap, cheap. I will never return.

Very disappointed. I have been to this location few times and it is knowledgeably getting worse. I tried to give them one more chance and that was a mistake. If you still want to go there, try Vernon Hills location food and service much better.

I try to refrain from posting bad reviews because I understand how the restaurant industry has suffered the past 4 years with rising costs. However, deceiving customers is inexcusable. This was our first visit and we specifically asked how many golden shrimp come with an order. Our server, who seemed quite seasoned and knowledgeable about other menu items, told us 6 for the entree @ $29 and 3 for the add-on @ $9, so we each ordered entrees with add-ons. When the chef prepared our order we were each given 7 shrimp total. He told us it is 5 per entree and 2 per add-on. When we questioned the server she said “Oh, I made a mistake, sorry.” She never offered to correct her “mistake”, never asked us if we wanted dessert, just gave us the bill. Without going into details on the side dishes and the food other people at our table were served, the overall quality and quantity offered was disappointing. Whether or not we were lied to about the shrimp portions remains to be seen, but it seems pretty “fishy” to me. I have compassion for servers; I was once one myself. When I made a mistake I made it up to the customer.
