Great local spot in LaGrange. The sushi hits the spot and the noodle dishes are great as well!

Great sushi and other options. The appetizers came out quickly, fresh, and hot. Love coming here for reasonably priced bites!
Sushi Ukai is where La Grange cleans up its act, a necessary pallet cleanse built on the quiet discipline of the trade. Forget the loud joints; this is about the artistry, the essential foundation of perfect product, delivered with skill and precision. Yet, the real currency here is the simple, glorious perfection of the Gyoza: those wok-fried half-moons—crisp, savory, and served with that bright, necessary dipping sauce. And to the person who keeps this place running, and from your favorite, dedicated Gyoza Eater, know this: that consistent order is a gesture of deep, delicious respect.

Hands down my favorite Japanese restaurant. My partner says it's the closest he gets to feeling like he's in Japan again. The food and service are phenomenal. The quality of everything is amazing. I would eat here everyday if I could.

Without a doubt the best sushi in the western suburbs. Our friends invited us to join them at ukai and I was a little concerned because of the distance for us but it was worth the drive. The sushi was served at exactly the right temperature and the flavors were outstanding.

Good food
Only thing is they didn’t give waters to go?
I mean how cheap can a restaurant be especially when charging for sushi.

I’m not sure how this has high ratings on Yelp and Google but this isn’t a 5 star restaurant. As an Asian reviewer, this place was very mid. The decor and ambience were all fine. I did see that they have outdoor dining. We ordered a dragon roll, dan dan noodles, and tonkotsu ramen noodle. I’m not going to go through every dish like I usually do. They’re all pretty much 2.5-3 out of 5. The broth in the ramen was bland and tasteless. Noodles were chewy. The dan dan noodles were also bland. The versions I had at other places are well seasoned. Dragon roll was just okay. Service was fine. I had a better experience at Shang Noodle down the street.
