I've been here for dinner/drinks as well as Easter brunch, and each time I'm here the food is delicious and the service great. The Elm also has a cute upstairs patio that is open year-round.

I have dined at The Elm many times and recently my daughter’s LT cheer team held their banquet on the rooftop. Macrina helped us set everything up and it was a fabulous event. The staff were all excellent, the buffet food was delicious, and as always there were great drink choices. I would recommend The Elm for a dinner or to host an event!

We couldn’t have picked a better location for our wedding - everything was perfect! Our guests loved the food so much, Abbey and team bad everything set up and were super excited to jump in at any given moment for assistance! We had the most amazing time! Would recommend to everyone!

We recently hosted a baby shower at The Elm in LaGrange. We were so impressed and so happy at how well everything went. We had so many compliments on the shower since we hosted. From the initial contact through the day of the event was a smooth seamless process & not stressful at all.
Abby R. took care of us and handled the entire process and it was wonderful!!! The beautiful room, the delicious food, fun mimosa bar and such a great and helpful staff made our event memorable. She took our theme ideas and helped us, with the staff to pull it all together the morning of the shower! I highly recommend hosting your next event at the Elm!

Amazing staff and absolutely delicious food! The team was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience special. The restaurant is fully wheelchair accessible—even to the second floor with an elevator—which is a huge plus. The setup is gorgeous, especially the rooftop dining area.

We recently celebrated a 40th birthday here, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. The bartenders were incredibly knowledgeable, crafting fantastic drinks and impressive mocktails. Highly recommend for both special occasions and a great date night out!

On my journey to The Galloping Ghost Arcade I stopped at this fantastic restaurant. The Elm is everything a restaurant should be. Classy, great service, great selections. Quiet and spacious. The Pear and Brie flatbread was wonderful. The next time I head to Brookfield I will make sure to stop again.

Since the elm is making up fake google accounts and putting up false info about the “ great “ parties and events they host, I will go onto my other Google account and write the same review I experienced. The fact we never heard back from management or even a simple phone call to ask how things went- just shows you how they don’t care.
The lack of professionalism is insane with this restaurant, I’m confused as to how anyone efficiently organized a party and had “ excellent “ service during a party when they could not even get a grip on my son’s baptism. We tried to contact the owners multiple times to simply tell them our experience. If they responded to our inquiries then we wouldn’t have to bombard them with google reviews.

We have attempted multiple times to contact the owners regarding our experience hosting an event at The Elm, but have been unable to reach anyone. For that reason, I’m leaving this review in hopes of bringing these concerns to someone’s attention.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend hosting an event at The Elm. Communication leading up to the event was inconsistent, and I repeatedly had to reach out for basic information. No one contacted me to confirm guest counts or details 14 days prior, as stated in their own process, so I took it upon myself to follow up. Overall, the planning communication felt disorganized and inattentive.

The day-of event manager was especially disappointing. She was not accommodating, and her demeanor made me feel uncomfortable for requesting simple, standard tasks—placing table numbers, setting out favors, or putting pre-assembled coloring book baskets on a table. Her response was, “We don’t usually do that, but I guess I will,” which was surprising for a venue that advertises itself as event-ready. She even suggested I ask my florist to handle favors, which is not in a florist’s scope of work. I ultimately had family members leave the event early to do what the staff would not.

The owners should be aware that their staff appears unwilling to complete basic event duties. It is not unreasonable to expect a venue to place table numbers, favors, or pre-arranged items. If the stance is “we aren’t liable,” then the establishment should not market itself as a full-service venue.

Service during the event was also subpar. The event manager was largely absent—we saw her twice before she disappeared entirely, leaving the waitstaff overwhelmed. My husband ended up taking drink orders and going to the bar himself to help keep things moving. Despite clearly communicating that many children would be attending, kids waited over an hour for their meals because the staff delayed taking table orders. It is common practice to expedite children’s food, and this should not have required repeated reminders.

Even my florist, who is highly respected across the Chicagoland area, had a negative experience. In her 17 years in hospitality, she said she has never been asked to wait in her car because a venue “wasn’t ready” for her—especially when everything was clearly already set up. She has chosen not to post photos from the event because she does not wish to promote the Elm.

Positives: The food was exceptional—every dish was outstanding, and numerous guests commented that it was among the best meals they’ve ever had. The Christmas décor was beautiful and created a lovely atmosphere. The chef and kitchen staff deserve full credit for that.

Staff went above and beyond in a pinch for me! Somehow my pre-scheduled online order came through for a later time than I thought I scheduled, and I needed the order for a client meeting happening in 30 minutes. Kristine the manager acted quickly and was able to prepare the order right away and even drove it to the meeting! Saved the day and I really appreciate the service. Great food as well. Thank you Kristine and the Elm team!
