Small town diner whose best days have past them by. The business has been here for a long time and looks old and seems complacent. Their food choices are basic and looks it when served. The restaurant needs a makeover and a refreshment. There's nothing particularly interesting about the menu or it's food or its waitstaff. I suspect most items are thawed and served, and little is freshly prepared. Too bad, dining at Club LaCon is a rather sad experience. There's a bar and bowling alley adjacent to the restaurant, as well.

We came in and waited about 10 minutes before seating ourselves. The waitress finally came and said she didn't see us because we sat in a closed section. I told her we waited about 10 minutes but just sat ourselves (about 10 feet from the spot we were standing). She rolled her eyes. My grandmother ordered potatoes and they brought out French fries. When we let her know she said nobody told her potatoes, which the rest of us heard it said. I also requested tarter sauce for my fish and she never came back with it until the potatoes were done, and she forgot the tarter sauce. By then my food was cold. My daughter ordered grilled cheese and French fries and the grilled cheese was burnt and like Styrofoam. The fries were mostly brown. The waitress mentioned she was alone to answer the phone, serve, and tend bar. There was only 1 other table and the phone never rang. There were 3 gentlemen at the bar that I guess needed more attention. This used to be a decent place but I can see why it was empty on a weekend.

Had dinner here tonight August 2025, our waitress Molly Ann ( I think) was so good, waited on us immediately, got drinks super fast, checked on us a perfect amount of times! Food and wine were great too!

Cold night and decided to dine out. We don’t do chains so we decided to make the trip to Lacon. Arrived at 6:15 and were promptly met with a smile, menus, and a table. Date ordered coffee that came in the biggest cup ever! Salad, bread, and corn muffins were served in four minutes. Dinner arrived as soon as salads were finished. Huge portions were more than we could eat. Took home large to go box. Price was reasonable, service great, and food quality excellent Will certainly do it again. Jim -1-18-25
