Tried this joint the other day. Gotta say I think it was pretty darn good. Got myself the hybrid,which is brisket and pulled pork with a side of baked beans and some skillet corn bread. The sandwich was good, but could have had a tad more sauce on it. The meat is tasty with a slight hint on smoke while not being overpowered with smoke. The beans were totally on point for a bbq joint! The corn bread was very, very good, it was mildly sweet. The corn bread would be bomb if it was paired with some honey butter,or maybe just some honey to drizzle over it. Overall, I would definitely visit this place again to try more special!

Called and received no answer which is fine, assuming they were busy but when i got there not a soul in the restaurant. funny. maybe they don’t answer calls but maybe that’s something they should advertise that just a thought. so i came in ordered food, seemed to be out of almost all the sides, still that’s fine just again something that should be put out there especially when they were out of so much. I ordered brisket and ribs, a very small amount of food for a hefty price i’d say. the food was very dry and unflavored. reading the reviews make it seem like it is good food but maybe we caught them on a bad day. very disappointing, i’m new to this area and was hoping to find some good eats.

Food was A++, "The Hybrid" is probably the best BBQ sandwich I've had in Illinois. Service was fast and prices were very reasonable. However. I did get the distinct vibe if I had let it slip I had only stopped in Lacon to charge my car I would have gotten kicked out.

Stopped on our way to a baby shower. The food was amazing!!! Everything we had was delicious. The tamales are some of the best I have ever had, definitely the best in Illinois.
