Tried this joint the other day. Gotta say I think it was pretty darn good. Got myself the hybrid,which is brisket and pulled pork with a side of baked beans and some skillet corn bread. The sandwich was good, but could have had a tad more sauce on it. The meat is tasty with a slight hint on smoke while not being overpowered with smoke. The beans were totally on point for a bbq joint! The corn bread was very, very good, it was mildly sweet. The corn bread would be bomb if it was...
Food was A++, "The Hybrid" is probably the best BBQ sandwich I've had in Illinois. Service was fast and prices were very reasonable. However. I did get the distinct vibe if I had let it slip I had only stopped in Lacon to charge my car I would have gotten kicked out.
I cannot recommend this place enough. Being someone who is extremely picky about quality of food, this food is amazing! I had the Mac bowl with brisket and honestly, one of the best dishes I've had. Everything about it was very well done. Flavor, portions, overall quality, just amazing.
