Never come here, they say especially on a Sunday! ? How am I supposed to know, there was nobody to attend us, there's no complete menu. They told me a burrito was $10 then why did they charge me $15 & provided no receipt. The last server, kept reminding us that they are short staffed & if we wanted good service we should have gone to the sister company next door.

For starters online, they say they have horchata, but they didn't, so it was already off to a rough start for me. This place is located in the little plaza that's next to Jewel. It's a very small space. A few tables and a couple of bar seats. They do have outdoor seating available, though. It's definitely a vibe when you go in. Its small space is nicely decorated and kept clean. The menu is on a chalkboard, so you have to go in to see what they have available. There were a few people ahead of me. It took about a few minutes before someone came out to help us. I ordered a chicken bowl and a steak bowl with chips l, salsa, and guacamole. I know everything is starting to get pricey, but this place was pricey, and I wasn't super impressed with the food, unfortunately. They have the potential to be great it was just lacking flavor in the bowls. Everything is made to order, so expect to wait. They got my order wrong but quickly fixed the problem. I enjoyed the salsa and the guacamole the most. I'm disappointed they had no horchata. Maybe I'll revisit when they start serving it again, but for now, it's a one and done for me.

The tacos el pastor were absolutely amazing! Probably the best we've ever had!

Basic little place in a plaza in Lake Forest. It's also one of the cheaper places around here. Jefe's Tacos of course has Mexican food, just Americanized though. Good enough for a lunch. The prices are kind of high for being pretty basic and they're also getting orders wrong and are slow. After looking around awhile, we found it. It's actually located in a plaza called Westwood Square. There's a hall that winds around a few other businesses so it's not obvious to see from the street, and it took a few times walking past it to find this. Also, it was closed. They changed their hours. It's now only open for lunch, so we had to come back. Later we tried it again and it was finally open. Each of us got tacos of course. It's $4.75 each. They have absolutely no sides, only tacos. Even so, there's a few choices. First choose what kind of tortilla, corn or flour. She got the corn and I got the flour. After that choose the filling, with there being a few to choose. Each of us got the Grilled Mushrooms. There's also choices of chicken and steak. Finally get what kind of style tacos, as in what kind of sauce on it. There's the Simply Tacos, or there's the Traditional. On the Traditional, it's cilantro, onions, and poblano lime sauce. That's how we got these. Basic but still not bad. The tacos were pretty small and we were still hungry after eating.Come here at lunch because otherwise it's closed. It has pretty limited hours. They have recently opened another location in Lake Bluff and have better hours and more to choose on the menu there.

Jefe’s Tacos is Lake Forest’s go-to taco hotspot! The food is fresh and delicious and the service is prompt and friendly. There's a variety of protein options and a ton of tasty toppings and sauces. I like their grilled chicken and grilled mushroom tacos with all my favorite toppings. SO delicious! Jefe’s offers family and party box options as well. When you walk into Jefe’s, it’s like an escape! The authentic decor is a vibe. The traditional Spanish tile is gorgeous and the hand painted Día de Muertos artwork is incredible. The bold and bright colored chairs add to the vibrant, fun atmosphere. I highly recommend checking out this Mexican hotspot any day of the week … not just for Taco Tuesday!

Terrible service, how is it possible that you go to a place and ask for something that is on the menu and they tell you that you cannot order it because it takes a long time, I told her I'm not in a hurry, she answered but it takes a long timeDine in: Yes

This is a Mexican restaurant that has no beans, no rice and still manages to be quite expensive. Extremely limited menu and be aware the prices are much higher than the menu available online. My meal was very disappointing for $21.
