Per usual it was superb. The hors d'oeuvres and the entree's were delicious. I am always incredibly satisfied with my meals at Le Colonial. It remains in my top 10 restaurants in the US!
We celebrated a birthday with a late Lunch so restaurant was quiet but we were treated with so much kindness and attention. Great recommendations and help with suggestions on what to order and how much. We will definitely return!
Food and atmosphere where outstanding. We did feel rushed through our meal. The minute we sat down they wanted us to order everything at once. Tried getting us to order more cocktails and drinks. Server was fair. Food was delicious.
Overall, fair experience. The food was average for my taste, but the service was good. One thing to flag though. I noticed a surcharge on the bill and asked about it. I was told it started during the covid to help cover staff benefits and related costs. I did not catch all the details, but at this point the pandemic was 6 years ago. When you are already paying premium prices, this kind of add on feels like the owners passing their responsibility to customers. Even though the amount was small, but the approach feels a bit tacky and guilt driven. That said, it did not really impact the night. I just do not think the experience is worth the price overall.
They totally rushed us through our meal. Took our plates before asking if we were done and left check at the same time they brought dessert. For a $400 dinner for 3, not worth it
Excellent in every aspect, except we were seated next to two very loud tables. Too tight a squeeze between our table and the table next to us.
Residing in Lake Forest this is our favorite restaurant to visit. The food is just excellent! In summer the outside patio is a great option!
Loved every moment at LeColonial! The ambience and design style was beautiful. What impressed me the most besides the menu was that every single person on staff that evening. From the hostess to our servers and everyone in between. Thoughtful, courteous and accommodating. Now the menu!! Wow! The small plates selection was hard for us to choose so we will be back for more tasting. We ended up with the dumplings! Perfect! The entree was cooked to perfection ( I had a protein option) however they do accommodate vegetarians. We ended our desserts with a cordial of limoncello. We will be back!
Had a great meal last Saturday. We braved the snow storm from Highland Park. Hope to return this Saturday if we can get a reservation. Great food, drinks and service.
Good food, decent portions and fair bit of vegetarian options. Restaurant can be excessively noisy. Tables are placed really close to each other.

Fancy restaurant? No.
Food is overpriced for what it’s worth, waiters are sloppy, and the atmosphere is cramped. There are other places worth spending your time and money.
Ordered a single dish on take-out. Hit with a surprise 18% surcharge. Food was in a paper bowl that absorbed the sauce and ruined the meal. Their arrogance is beyond belief.
Great but ...
Food was fantastic, waitress was lovely and attentive, but the front host guy soured the experience with rude and condescending attitude.
