Market House on the Square

What a gem of a spot! The food was out of this world when we were able to dine in. The curbside was so great too!

I am a frequent visitor to Lake Forest - and my elderly Dad and his caregivers all agree THIS is our favorite place for lunch. It's not easy to navigate a wheelchair or walker to get through the antique (and cozy) space, but the staff at Market House always go out of their way to make us feel welcomed ... and move heaven and earth (or at least tables and chairs!) to get us seated. And the Salmon salad? Some of the best ever!

Have not been to Market House in a while. Did not disappoint! Had the iceberg lettuce salad and lamb burger. Sooooo good. Excellent wait staff. Highly recommend.

They did an excellent job for a party of 30. Easy to work work. Staff was exceptional. Food and drinks were delicious. Nice job in every area!

I visit Illinois a LOT OF TIMES. But I really do need to stay up here due to the high analytics in my home state of Georgia. Anyway, great food! Just keep in mind that the food is very rich. So you will fill up really quickly!

Whenever I come to Lake Forest, I always eat here with my family. They have amazing food, and very fast service. We always used to get the donuts for dessert, but I haven't seen them on the menu recently. I like to get the Amish chicken, which is really good. I also got the fish and chips once and it was absolutely delicious. My family and I love Market House!

I always come by buying some food in here. I like the swift service and well made dishes. Kudos.

Very nice place. I prefer the outdoor seating during warmer season. Staff is very nice and professional. We will be back soon once its warmer outside.

I admire this venue a lot. there is a nice feeling. The kitcen is marvelous. the service is dynamic and the team is friendly. The price is modest. greatly recommend.

We really enjoyed the comfortable decor of the restaurant and the terrific service. The menu had great variety as did the wine list. And one of our crowd is a picky ale drinker but found one that he liked in the beer list. We plan to return.

This is a nice place either for a bar experience or for some finer dining. The menue is somewhat limited but ranges from bar food to full entree's with appropriate sides. Just a nice friendly place to sit down and have a good meal.
