This review is not about Starbucks food/service or location, it’s about their merchandise I purchased a few days ago at this location. Starbucks products’ quality has gone down quite a bit in past few years. I used to purchase their coffee travel mugs or mugs in general and they were amazing quality (double walled lasted longer and felt expensive) but now I am so unhappy with this ceramic mug I got on the points we collected…lid just won’t stay on and I end up burning myself or spilling hot beverage when I try to push the lid on every time!
I used to have their venti ceramic cup (no lid) that I used for many years until it broke and I couldn’t find a replacement.
2nd item I got on my points (which I feel like we wasted our points on) was their French press…I absolutely hate this- firstly haven’t businesses learnt about microplastic (which I understand is hard avoid as it’s in everything we eat/drink in..but come on- why can’t businesses take some responsibility for not offering non-environmentally safe products) and why would you make a damn press made completely with plastic that is suppose to hold boiling hot beverages! I was super disappointed when I found out it was made of plastic after I used it as it felt like thin glass material while at the store. I have never had to return anything I purchased from Starbucks and was embarrassed about returning both products but I wish I could and get my points back which I earned by spending everyday at Starbucks! I feel robbed or cheated to be honest. Never purchasing merchandise from Starbucks again.

Recently remodeled, upscale Starbucks. However, after the renovation this is no longer a Reserve location, which is disappointing. Standard Starbucks menu, but the store is big and has lots of comfy places to sit. Nice location in downtown LF.

I am so disappointed with this, I was craving some hot chai for the chilly morning but instead i received this watered-down disgusting one. I should have just gone to Dunkin cause atleast i would be able to taste the chai

Man, I literally came here because they had a clover machine. Now it’s gone. Along with the premium beans. Major bummer. Still good seating.

Excitedly walked into the newly refurbished Starbucks and nope. What on earth have they done? It feels even more transactional than before I have added a giant black with thick white veining counter, which frankly has no design aesthetic compared to the rest of the store, which is warm browns - including the giant backdrops to the counter which are all in bronze. There are also giant Lead screens for the menu. The mish mash between old and new is absolutely not hitting the mark. Maybe this is phase one. I’m surprised they didn’t sort the floors out though! A quick sand and varnish would be good but I guess we are in winter and snow could still be heading our way. The space feels much larger, but that could be because they’ve taken away more chairs and tables tables, so they clearly want people in and out and not somewhere to sit. This may be Decorating for the hordes of kids that descend in the summer. However, a new Boba place opened a couple of months ago, so I’m not sure whether the hordes will still be massing in quite the same way this year. Even so, there should be a way to balance iced drinks for teenagers who have no interest in hanging around inside a Starbucks and those regular day-to-day patrons who come to sit for maybe 30 minutes to an hour to take time out of the day or to do some work Lake Forest is a market town vibe with people that like to chat. I guess there are other offerings around Lake Forest where you feel more relaxed to sit there for sometime Still no reserve bar so that is obviously totally off the menu as far as Lake Forest is concerned

The perfect place to work or relax over a tasty cup of Joe.
