Having first enjoyed the Deerpath Inn in 1984, I have been very impressed with the ongoing upgrades all the while maintaining it's original atmosphere and elegance. I have never been disappointed when dining in any of the rooms, especially the new English Room.

Made dinner reservations here for 630 on 4/8. Service was very good from the host to the server, very attentive. The food had a few issues though. I ordered the ribeye (medium rare). There was no sear/char/browning/crust on the steak. The color was light to medium brown. I expect a nice dark brown crust on a $75 steak. The flavor, seasoning, and sauce was nice. It would have tasted much better with that dark brown sear on it. My wife ordered the mushroom risotto. It had a good amount of morel mushrooms in there which was nice to see. The problem was most of them had a gritty (sand like) texture to them so I am thinking they were not cleaned very well. The flavor and texture of the dish in general was middling. I would probably come back, but not too soon I think.
