Food was decent . Not great but not bad. Service was excellent, and the atmosphere was wonderful.
But the food was just good. Didn't like the fries but the short rib sandwich was tender. The burrata was good but not enough bread to eat it with. Did not like the sticky toffee.
I'd go back though.

Speak easy feel, with the best bourbon line-up that i can recall. Menu selection is diverse, ranging from sushi to bar food. Fires on all cylinders. Getting a table is tough, but worth the wait.

The food was fine but service was slow and not responsive. Asked twice for ketchup for my burger and fries and received acknowledgement from the server but it still never came.

We stopped in for lunch on Sunday and were thrilled to see that they have made some changes their menu. The new Smash-burger is outstanding!
We’ve loved the new and improved menu!

Service is impeccable. Waitstaff and all the other staff we encountered was very friendly and attentive. The foodis very good. We had the calamari started and the risotto for main. I recommend the Ranch Water drink as well.

This was exactly the vibe that I was looking for for a nice meal before Christmas. I’ve never been to Deer Path but I am so glad I went. The cocktails were great, the service was fantastic and the food was delicious. I loved the fireplace vibes too.

The Pub has long been a staple of our family's dining out in lake forest. We always enjoyed the atmosphere and the drinks and food. In fact our grandparents introduced us to the restaurant many, many years ago. Lately however, the service namely from the hostess (she doesn't display a name tag but is there most nights and acts superior to the guests, absolutely does not belong there) has been not only disrespectful but off-putting to the point we no longer recommend the Pub to our friends and family in LF. On any given night we are routinely told the wait for a table is an hour and a half...and this is larvely due to their policy of no reservations. No reservations! So you roll the dice every time then come in hoping to eat and you 9 times out of 10 cannot as the standard line is given of "We are busy and the wait is 90 minutes". Deer Path Inn, you're a first rate hotel and as such please hire a hostess with decorum suitable for your name and make reservations an option at the pub.

If I get food poisoning tomorrow, I will still go back to this restaurant. That's how good it is. Sure, that's a weird way of saying you like something but my normal flowery words just don't do it justice, so I had to go weird. It's not cheap. It's tight (just like any good London eatery). You can't make reservations so there is always a wait (go early). But the food is fantastic. It's rich as hell. All of it, from the appetizers to the soup to the main courses, is just delicious. It's so tasty that even after you're pleasantly full, and you know you've eaten more than you should, the smells of everyone else's plates still make you hungry as you leave the pub. If the rich people atmosphere makes you a little jumpy, just wiggle your toes, grin, and enjoy the people watching! Oh, and get dessert. It doesn't matter if you don't have any room left. Do it. You'll thank me later.

It is a cute little pub, very busy. We stayed here at the inn and had dinner in the pub the first night. The menu looked great so we ordered dinner. I had a very dirty martini as a cocktail. It was watery, had ice in it, and did not taste at all like a grey goose very dirty martini. I was disappointed, but we went ahead and ordered dinner. I had the French onion soup and chicken piccata. My husband had the same soup and short rib ragu with pasta. The French onion soup had a very bland taste. It was just okay. The chicken piccata was not good. There were about 5 random pieces of chicken breasts scattered on top of mushy veggies with a little circle of angel hair pasta. Parts of the chicken were not cooked properly and the pasta was stuck together in a circle. It tasted old. My husband’s pasta dish looked like pieces of beef mixed in with pasta and beef? gravy. I tried a couple bites and I doubt it was beef from short ribs. The beef was cut into 2 inch squares and looked processed. I liked the pasta, but the gravy tasted like it came from a processed gravy mix. The second bite of beef was all fat and I discreetly had to put it into a tissue. Nothing tasted homemade. It tasted as if it had been pre-made or processed somewhere else. I ordered pancakes for my husband and croissants for me for breakfast the following morning. He said the pancakes were bland. The croissants were extremely doughy. They did not have the layers of buttery dough throughout the roll. I just don’t see the attraction of this place.
