Bistro Wasabi

​Wow! We finally got around to trying this place last night after hearing so many good things, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. From the second we walked in, the atmosphere was so warm and welcoming – buzzing with happy conversation but still intimate enough for our table.
​Our server was a total pro. Attentive without ever making us feel rushed, and she gave a fantastic wine recommendation that paired perfectly with our food.
​And the food... let's talk about the food. We started with the crispy calamari, which was perfectly light and not at all greasy. For my main, I had the short rib bolognese. The pasta was clearly homemade, and the sauce was so rich and flavorful. My wife had the seared salmon, which was cooked perfectly with an amazing crispy skin. We cleaned our plates!
​What really sealed the deal for us was seeing the manager, Lin, on the floor all night. She was helping her staff, checking in on tables, and had such a genuine smile. She stopped by our table for a moment, and you can just tell how much passion she has for this restaurant and for making sure her guests are happy. That kind of leadership and care really shines through in the food and the wonderful service from her team.
​We left feeling so happy and taken care of. We're already planning our next visit! This place is a true gem.

The food is delicious and there is a lot to love on the menu. The Maki rolls are fresh and well made and the more traditional options like Tempura and noodles are just as good. I never seen my nephew eat so much food before, let alone sushi. What really makes this place stand out are the drinks. All you need is two cocktails to be over the legal limit. You definitely will be feeling it by time you leave and realize that you will need Uber.

I can't recommend this place enough 5/5.

The only reason I'm did not give 5 stars is it seems that there is less seafood in the ceviche. We omhave not been there for awhile as we moved away before covid. Just went there Sunday night and the ceviche was 80% tomatos, cucumber and onion. Few pieces of octopus, some salmon and fish. So disappointing.

This is place is good. We ordered several rolls to split that had cooked proteins because my wife is pregnant. They were good but my preference is raw fish. The nigiri was REALLY good and fresh. I highly recommend the scallop nigiri with chili oil drizzle on top. Service was great as well. We will definitely be back to try more off their menu!

If you're looking for good sushi at a good price go to Kobe. If you want the same quality sushi with atmosphere and top self liquor at a much higher price, go to Bistro.

Just one thing to mention — my friend tipped a little less than usual (not sure why), but the servers were loudly judging us, and we could clearly hear their comments. That felt a bit rude and uncomfortable. It’s unfortunate because the food and experience were great otherwise.

We’ve been loyal patrons of Bistro Wasabi since they first opened in the early 2000s. We absolutely love dining here and have always enjoyed the best food and service. However, the last two times I made reservations online—as encouraged by the restaurant—we specifically requested to be seated in the main dining room. Unfortunately, both times our request was ignored.

Tonight, we’re celebrating my son’s 30th birthday, and once again we’ve been placed in the side room despite our clear request. It’s incredibly disappointing and something so silly is ruining our evening.

Excellent Sushi! Entrees were delicious!
Desserts were amazing! Drinks were creative and refreshing! Erika J (our host for the evening) walked us through the best of the menu and service was Top Notch! We will definitely be back!

What a great place. The amount of food I received for my shrimp and scallops entree blew me away, and it was sooooo good.

My wife got the NY Strip steak, and it was a nice size entree, too.

The atmosphere is chic and trendy, and it feels like going to downtown Chicago.

We'll totally be back!
