Wonderful neighborhood bistro!! Probably our favorite restaurant in the northwest suburbs. Unpretentious French food with an Asian twist (the chef/part owner is classically trained French chef who is Japanese, the other owner is French). Lively bar scene, great restaurant. Outside dining in the summer, classic rotating monthly bistro dishes, deep and ever changing wine list for pairings. Awesome date nite spot!!
Dietary restrictions: D&J does a nice job with gluten free/celiac.

Party of 3 walked in with no reservation on a Saturday night and were told nothing in the dining room was available, but that we could sit at the bar, which was full service. Totally understand and was surprised we got in at all. The quality of the food, as always, was excellent. The service suffered, unfortunately. I understand everyone is busy, and we were in the bar, but I still believe that if I got seated first, then I should be the first served, and this was not the case in any regard throughout this experience, right down to when I finally got the check and had to go the hostess stand to get anyone's attention to actually pay my bill. This hiccup in an otherwise wonderful setting will not stop me from returning to D&J on my own, but I will be rethinking taking anyone I mean to impress here.

We recently celebrate it, my mom‘s birthday at DJ bistro, what can I say , perfection from the beginning to the end? My mom was looking for a private party, and the restaurant has a wonderful private room. The restaurant does require a preset menu for a group of a certain size, but they were extremely flexible letting us pick out however many appetizers we want and whichever entrées we want. The service was wonderful, From the waitress to the bus boys, and even the manager came in and checked on us a number of times. Very warm people! The food was amazing, Everybody enjoyed all the appetizers and I think my mom ordered 12 different kinds, Everyone enjoyed their entrées too. I highly recommend , whether for celebration or for a random weekday dinner.

We went for a birthday dinner and our experience was amazing. The menu selection was perfectly curated and everything seemed like it would be a good choice. Service from our server and the busser/server assistant was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Prices were more than fair.
Two of our group opted for the prixe fixe menu and both were very happy with the size and selection of options. We also shared the pâté maison which was absolutely delicious and was a perfect accompaniment to the sweeter appetizer of bacon-wrapped dates. The special rack of lamb was cooked to a perfect medium, and was incredibly tender with a slightly sweet sauce that paired perfectly.
The desserts were out of this world. In addition to the pineapple tarte tatin and chocolate tarte with the prix fixe, we also shared the pecan tarte. All were decadent and beautiful, a perfect end to a perfect meal.
We were so happy to share an amazing meal at such a beautiful restaurant with impeccable service, can’t wait to go back!

It was a great old school steakhouse and had some seafood. Some food was great but the steak “prime ribeye” was good but nothing special. The escargot was great! Service was pretty good once it got started (took a while). Would I go back? Maybe but it’s only if you like neighborhood restaurant type feel which I like! I’m being tough on them but was a little disappointed by the steak.
