There are numerous options for flights or mixed drinks, and we tried and really enjoyed the gold dust woman, Amanda’s manhattan, old fashioned, and the sazerac. The employee who took care of us took the time to explain all of their house-made syrups and alcohols, and she had great recommendations for us to try based on what we were looking for! I’d love to come back again (to enjoy the live music area in the back) and have already recommended this place to others!”

“Highly recommend Mari's restaurant. The food and service at Mari's restaurant was excellent. Such an extensive menu! My family all ordered different things (zopes, flautas, a beef stew, pupusas and more). And we even had some delicious desserts including fried ice cream. The portions were very generous and the prices were amazing. The owner's whole family works there and you can tell that they put their heart into the business. I would highly recommend giving them a try.”

“My waiter was good and friendly. I sat in covered patio. I ordered a spring salad with shrimp. blackberries, grapefruit, candied pecans, arugula and berry vinaigrette and a side of Mac n cheese. The salad was missing the pecans but I forgot until I left, I thought something was missing. However, the shrimp was perfectly cooked. The ratio of shrimp to half portion was good. Mac N Cheese was ok. Noodles were undercooked and some still hard/crunchy edges and cheese sauce was just average and a bit gritty/thick. However, I was not expecting my meal to be served with plastic wrapped plastic utensils. a take home box for salad and a take home container for dining in. That was disappointing. the table of eight next to me was a bit shocked too to get their meals in to go cardboard containers.”

“We just celebrated my wife's surprise 65th birthday Sunday with 14 family members. We chose El vado #2 Mexican Restaurant and couldn't be any happier. From them going out of their way purchasing ballons and banners to her complimentary frozen ice cream the service, food and drinks were phenomenal. Very warm and welcoming staff. Very appreciative of your business and fantastic atmosphere. Thank you for this memory. Never felt rushed. Everyone in our family raved on how great it was and was one of our best parties ever. Familiar with their other restaurant in McHenry which is also excellent and reasonably priced. You have to try this place if you like mexican food. A+++”

“Enjoyed your pizza at a friend’s wedding this week. Your pear and prosciutto pizza has to be one of the best pizza creations I have ever had. Wow!!! Absolutely beautiful pizza creations and display! The shrimp ceviche cups, cucumber rolls, everything looked and tasted amazing. You all worked well in the heat and under pressure. Never an empty spot of food on the table for guests to select from. Highly recommend for an event!”

The vegetables are lazily not chopped well, so it is in huge pieces in all their dishes. It's mainly a carryout so don't eat there because it's dingy, loud and busy.

“I ran into the Giordano’s off Lake St and Michigan Ave tonight just to get quarters for parking (unfortunately we had already eaten somewhere else). I gotta say that the staff was SO NICE and so kind about it that next time I’m over that way I will be eating there just because of the interactions I had tonight with a few staff members. As a non-customer tonight they didn’t have to help me out but they did and did it happily and were all super friendly. Even the manager (who was absolutely adorable) helped out by getting out a roll of quarters so that I had enough for the parking machine/box. Thank you all for the help tonight. I really did appreciate it!”

“Kooker’s is my favorite lunch time spot when I’m at the office for the day. They make their own natural cut fries that I love cooked well done. They have daily specials that are great deals, although all of their prices are fair. They have limited seating, but you can call ahead and pick up an order and I think they do delivery. When there, make sure you look at the specialty board that is to the right of the register. There you will find items that are not on the regular menu. Today I had the poutine with pulled pork—amazing. I highly recommend this locally-owned burger (and a lot more) joint.”

“Superb lunch spot with clean spacious booths suitable for conversation. Blissfully no music playing! The food was prepared and brought to our table in 5 minutes. The McAllister club was nice to split with my wife, with fresh ingredients and a sweet sauce with just a hint of spice…mostly mayo but there is something more going on there. Potato salad was fresh…..a little bland but that’s OK. Can’t beat the affordable prices.”
