Not because the latter is bad, we just prefer the rings. Since we're not bar folks and don't drink alcohol, sometimes it feels like service pays too little attention, but not always. That depends on the night and the server's.“

“Being gluten free and dairy free has made life challenging, but not since finding Holcomb Hollow! I've been a loyal customer since finding them at Green Joe's in Schaumburg. I'v also bought them at Pure Juice Cafe in Arlington Heights. With my wacky commute, I've also been able to find them at Brewpoint Coffee in Elmhurst as well as Conscious Cup in Palatine. We love their muffins, cookies, and donuts so so much. They are tasty and never give us a problem with our special dietary restrictions. They also are at the Mundelein Farmer's Market and offer seasonal special sales from their wholesale baking location in Mundelein. I follow them on Instagram where they advertise their latest products or new flavors. I also keep tabs on which businesses stock them on their IG page because it feels like the list keeps growing! “So right off the bat, if you like ham in plentiful supply, this is your spot. Pretty busy suburban joint, good for a variety of breakfast items. What I would recommend is anything with ham. I don't know if they have a pig farm in the back but these guys load your plate with ham to the point that white flags come out and pants get unzipped. I had the omelette (with ham, obviously). It was tasty - but the egg ratio to ham was too little. Next time I will, and would recommend the skillet with scrambled eggs. The omelette was super thin, where is the scrambled eggs that my friend had seem more proportional dish . Service was OK, not great. Coffee was not bad, also not great. Fresh squeezed orange juice is lights out though, so I would definitely recommend that. I will definitely go back, just a little bit wiser this time .“

The coffee, however, tasted like it was on the burner too long. One of the pleasant features of coming to Egg Harbor was the flavor of the day coffee and we’re disappointed that they no longer carry that. The specialty coffees do not make up for that. “Very good Italian restaurant. The highlight for me was the prices which are extremely reasonable for a higher and Italian place. The atmosphere is real nice. Meatballs for appetizer were great as well. I would highly recommend this place. The prices are probably only slightly higher than Olive Garden but this is for sure. A much better place.“

The weather was nice enough to sit on their patio - just a few sprinkles, but we had an umbrella over the table. Beautiful view of the golf course. Our server (Ally) was excellent and the food was delicious. My husband had the "porterhouse" pork chop - huge and perfectly cooked! I had one of the best petite filets I've had in a long time - so tender and flavorful. They gave us a free dessert for our anniversary - amazing limoncello shortbread cake with blueberry chambord sauce. Wow!“

But I was astonished at the excellent food quality, the delightful presentation and the superior service. I ordered a lunch special, a 7" wild mushroom pizza and a salad. When the salad arrived, my jaw dropped. It was a heaping bowl of salad, with the lettuce nicely chopped up and lots of stuff added in, absolutely scrumptious. It was anything but a 'side' salad. I sampled by wife's tomato soup and found it delightful, just the right amount of spice. and now I'll have trouble in the future trying to decide between the salad or the soup. The mushroom pizza was great ! And the server, Christopher, refilled my coffee cup 3 times before I declined a fourth. I can't remember the last time any server anywhere, kept my coffee cup filled. Deer Park is a drive and now I wish there was a CPK in Crystal Lake because I'd be a regular. 10 star review from me. A Great Value.“

I have tried a few summer favorites, Watermelon Mojito, a guava smoothie of amazingness, and I think the Strawberry Daiquiri. I have tried many more smoothies, but I don't know, I love them all. This location is great, everyone is friendly and greets you, you get your drink quick, and you're out. I feel like you get 100 ounces of smoothie! You don't, but that's how large it feels, and I love it. It's a great meal replacement when you're on the go, too. I know smoothies are more of a warm weather thing, but they do have food, which act more like lunch options. There's something for everyone, which is nice.“
