I used to come here all of the time, was my favorite spot. Then one day, they took pork off the menu because they didn’t sell enough of it. That is when I noticed the service went down hill, hard not to. Was eating in and my girlfriend heard our waitress complaining about us in Spanish. Another time I came in and paid and noticed the cashier tried to pocket a $5 from me and short changed me $5. I had to actually call her back and ask for my proper change. I am sure the bagels are still good, but 100% better places in town. It is a shame what has happened here, have not come back since, and probably won’t ever again sadly.

They take the “ish” in their 2ish close time seriously, which I respect, so don’t arrive last minute. If it’s slow, they wrap up closer to 1:30. The food and service are always top notch. The donut holes are magically soft and flavorful (so they often are out before 1pm). A medium fried egg is perfectly medium. The deli sandwich combo is generously filled. The freshly squeezed orange juice is from actual orange that are squeezed there.

The place was dirty. Floors didn't look like they were cleaned all day. Coffee cup was not washed.

Waitress was polite, but service was terrible. Only time she was at our table is when we asked for her. Didn't get what we ordered and was told it would be removed from the bill, but it wasn't.

Bright side is young lady at the register was terrific.

We were looking forward to eating at Eggshells. I checked the hours on Google maps which said they closed at 2 pm. We arrived at 1:25 and was told the kitchen was closed & they were just closing up. The person gave no apologies. The standing sign outside clearly stated they were open until 2:00! After this incident I am reluctant to go back. My pet peeve is small businesses that can close early when they feel like it.

I have been coming here for years and never had a bad meal. I now I drive from Mt. Pleasant Wi.to have a great meal. Great job Max

Coming here for years. Food is always delicious and priced fairly. My favorites are breakfast quesadillas or just savory sausage patties and eggs. Their donuts are freshly made on site. Staff is the best! Intelligensia coffee what brought us here in the beginning. We have stayed for all the other reasons as well

They are never ready when they open. Don't go there unless they've been open 2 hours. Unbelievable that 3 times in a row I've order within 2 hours of open and they're unprepared. If you like to gamble on if you'll get what you want from THEIR menu, then this is the place for you.

Egg Shells Restaurant: Our New Favorite Breakfast Spot!

As newcomers to the Lake Zurich area, my family and I have been on the hunt for the perfect breakfast spot, and we can confidently say we've found it in Egg Shells Restaurant! After trying several places, this one has quickly become our absolute favorite and our new go-to.

Egg Shells takes familiar breakfast options and infuses them with a unique flair that makes them stand out. The portions are incredibly generous, and most importantly, the food tastes great! Every dish we've tried has been delicious and satisfying.

A special shout-out to our server, Cassie, who was absolutely wonderful. She was both friendly and attentive, making our dining experience even more enjoyable.

My family and I highly recommend Egg Shells Restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional breakfast experience in Lake Zurich. You won't be disappointed!

The menu has some tasty plates, the chilaquiles, the sunrise burrito are special very flavorful meals. Be prepared to take much home as the servings are generous. We routinely get two or more meals from every order. Excellent, fluffy two or three egg omelets with many ingredients available. Lottsa, lottsa sides.
Servers are friendly, helpful and always welcoming.
We eat out a lot, and Egg Shells is a once, or more, a week destination.
Try it and make it a regular stop like we did. You won't be sorry.

First time at Eggshells and it was great. Omelet was a good size and value. Everything else looked . They have fresh donuts, and while I didn't have one myself, my friend i was eating with try the samples and said they were great - he took two to go!

Coffee was good. Service was good. Pleased with they prices also.

Smallish homespun sort of breakfast and lunch place with really good food! This is my fourth visit and I've been consistently impressed with the food. The sausage patties are excellent - not the usually greasy cheap pork stuff, not overly salted. Scrambled eggs with cheese and salsa were fresh, flavorful - my english muffin was well-toasted like I prefer and the side of fruit salad was fresh and good. My companions skillet breakast looked fantastic - he said it was really good.Our only complaint was discovering that sides of salsa cost $1.39 each and only learning that when presented with the bill. Salsa is normally free of charge and this should have been free or the cost explained before delivering it to our table.

Not a place I would recommend to Patriotic Americans. I was never brought the drink I ordered and never brought a check. My order was taken and the food was later dropped on my table as the immigrant waitress walked by.
