I loved it there fish was amazing
The decorations for Valentines were breaktaking! The violinist was a superb touch. The service was incredible. We had a very knowledgeable and attentive server. The food was special and delicious. It was our first time there and we will be coming back.
Fun themed restaurant of an old bank with exposed brick and vault doors making the ambiance lovely for for a date or drinks. The prices are high but the food is delicious. I would say they need to make their wine list a bit more robust and remove some cheaper selections (like Josh Cellars). Otherwise a wonderful new place I'll definitely enjoy again.
A great local restaurant with the feel and presentation equaling downtown Chicago. The management knows how to run a restaurant ,when short-staffed and running behind they offer explanations and complimentary drinks. So far, our two dinner experiences have been exc.eptional. We are seafood lovers, and have found their fish dishes worth going back for. As East coast transplants ,the clam chowder is by far the best mid-west chowdah we have found. Would highly recommend the Vault for date night and casual family gatherings!
We had made reservations for a date night and upon arriving for our confirmed reservation time, we were told that we would have to wait about 30-45 minutes because they were short staffed and only one section of the restaurant was opened. If that was the case and management knew that, a phone call would have been appreciated so that we could have made other arrangements. We ended up taking our business elsewhere.
We had a reservation at 7pm for 5 people. Arrived at 6:55 and waiting time was between 15-30 minutes. Went to their bar area. One our later I asked the host to check on our table and she told us it's getting ready. They tried to seat us at a High pub table for 4 people. The host kept saying βI am trying to help you β. It looked like she didn't know how to handle well the situation. As we told her we can't be seating at a pub table for 4 and ordering dinner for 5. She then went to talk to her manager who we never saw. The host also was trying to seat another party of 5 who arrived after us to a normal table. Then she decided to make the situation even worse by asking the other party right in front of us if she can seat us first at the bigger table. I am not sure I have ever experienced such an embarrassment ever in a restaurant. I have been many times to this place but the host and manager need to have more training on how to handle situations where they have a shortage of staff and not able to handle an escalating problem! I am sure that if she and management new how to handle that would not become such a problem! Also, don't order fish and chips and pistachio cake. Both are 0 out if 10!
Disappointed. I was looking forward to supporting a local business and made reservations well in advance for my best friend and I (2 overtired Moms) to enjoy a much needed relaxed dinner. When we got there- the hostess informed us that there was no table available, despite us having a reservation. She said that open table was βwrongβ and that we could sit at the bar or wait 30-45 minutes for an actual table- also only located at the bar. My friend and I would have stayed and spent way more $$ than we did but it was so packed and uncomfortable that we left within an hour. So much for a much needed night out for 2 Moms with 3 kids each. The food was ok, but overshadowed by the experience. Shoutout to the bartender who made our night semi salvageable. OpenTable - you may have to re-think your partnership. π
Cool place, really great staff and service. The appetizers (beet salad and seafood hushpuppies) were very delicious as was the apple pie. All four of our main courses were just ok. Good not great. Meh. Can the appie chef be the main chef? We got the steak-cooked right-not much flavor to it; the scallops-cooked right-not much flavor, the Branzino again good not great and the grouper. All four of us the same. For the prices we kinda expect great. Cocktails were a pretty presentation.
We decided to give the Vault another try after a few disappointing visits. I'm pleased to say that this visit was very enjoyable. The food and service was very good . I'll be back
The food was very good and cooked to perfection. Adam our server was excellent and very customer friendly. The dining room was closed and we were seated in the bar area. A bit noisier there. I would recommend Vault 232 to family and friends.

Our Server Kevin went above & beyond! Also, a bus-girl (?) came and asked if she could take any plates away and I told her she could take mine - thinking it would be boxed up to go. Well - that's not what she meant! I asked another server if she could stop her to let her know but it was too late. So they made a new βSteak Sinatraβ meal for me to take home - when it was totally MY ERROR. Food was so good! Great restaurant run by good people!
The food tasted phenomenal. However, the mini crab cake appetizer was a bit deceiving. They were more like small crab balls. You could taste crab but didn't get a chunk of crab due to their miniature size. There were also only 6 tiny bites on the plate. I would rethink this app. Our dinners were fantastic. We had a sizzling steak skillet and the surf and turf. Both really impressed us. Old fashioned was made really well. There was karaoke being set up for the night. Not sure if I want to eat a $100 per person meal while someone belts out a bad version of "I Will Always Love You" right behind me.
Food and service was very good. Atmosphere is perfect for an opportunity to meet with friends and to be able to talk comfortably without loud music.
The food was great. But what I we paid for our entrees, I'd think the staff would be better dressed. Hostess wire jeans with Ugg slippers.
Been here several times and it has been hit or miss in the past, but the last two times it's been good and last night the food was excellent. We did get there in time for their special happy hour but they told us it was only if you sat at the bar which was full and we had our teenage daughter with us so I was a little disappointed we couldn't try those food and drink specials, especially since we sat at a high top on the bar side. Overall a good experience.
