We went to vault for a girls night and it was the perfect spot! Our waitress was great - super attentive and did not give us grief when we asked for separate checks!

The food was good…not great! 3 of us got the bacon scallops dish- and it was good I was expecting more. It was 3 pieces of bacon with 5 small scallops with some sauce. I guess I was expecting bacon wrapped scallops… maybe a mashed potato or rice idk. It was good … but was expecting more! My other friends got the mussels and the fish fry and they both really enjoyed those!

It was a good spot for our girls night and I’ll probably go back and try a different dish!

I’m absolutely blown away by how the owner treated me over the phone. My mom has been ordering shrimp platters from Vault 232 for years, even dating back to when they were still located in the strip mall. So we’ve been loyal customers for a long time.

She called the restaurant to let them know I was outside ready to pick up the order. The owner had a very short, stern, and blunt conversation with her, stating that his employee was still on the way, and then hung up.

I was unaware of this conversation and called the restaurant myself because the front door was still locked. When the owner answered, he was immediately verbally combative, saying he had just spoken with my mom and that Kevin was on the way. I was caught off guard by his attitude since I had no idea what he was referring to. His tone throughout the conversation felt irritated, almost as if my call was an inconvenience.

I do want to point out that Kevin was very professional. He apologized for the situation and even upgraded my order to make up for the inconvenience, which I truly appreciated.
Unfortunately, the owner’s behavior left a very negative impression, especially considering our family’s long history of supporting this business.

First dinning experience at Vault 232 with a very positive evening. The restaurant interior is upscale casual with well-spaced high and low tables, centerpiece is a long, well-stocked bar. Franco made certain we were familiar with the menu, seafood a specialty (fish market attached to Vault 232), multiple fish choices prepared in multiple ways. Everything from salads, clam chowder (passed the native New Englander test) and fish dinners was perfect in preparation, presentation and timely serving. Nice to have a relatively new, great local restaurant!

Absolutely phenomenal! The service, food, atmosphere and all the kind staff. I got to celebrate my 27th birthday there with my husband and I’m still so impressed with everything we got. We started with the calamari (so fresh!) and of course had to try their clam chowder soup which was amazing. Generous amount of clam. Do yourself a favor and order a bowl! I had the lobster roll which had a generous amount of lobster with a side of fries and it was easily a 9.7/10. My husband had their steak & potatoes which was also amazing. The steak was so tender and melted in your mouth.

The chef was going table to table multiple times over the night which I appreciated so much and he was so kind and personable! Everything is made fresh daily, nothing pre packaged and we COULD TELL.

We will definitely be back very soon 💕

Great atmosphere. Our server was quite slow at meeting our needs. Food was just ok. Baked oysters were decent! Lobster bisque was very watery. Beef tips dry. The salmon, Italian style was good. Ahi tuna, seared, but cold on the inside. Presentation of food was good!

Food was delicious. Very disappointed that the only dessert that we would eat was 86'd. Kimberly N was great!

Great food and service! It was New Year's Eve, so a bit louder in the restaurant than usual. Different styles for seafood dishes are perfect and give one many options. Will definitely return.

Great service from the minute you walk in the door. Food and drinks are wonderful. Scallops and branzino were outstanding.

Wow. Top notch LZ restaurant, not located in Chicago, that is truly a great place to enjoy a chef prepared meal. Family-owned with staff that creates an atmosphere: Music was low, they used incense at the entrance, the waterfall panel and dimly lit room just felt relaxing. We were there on NYE early. Lots of seafood choices 'done your way' where you choose ithe cuisine it which it is prepared (Greek/Asian/Italian/etc.) - Genius! Deliciously prepared vegetables and potatoes that were still hot, not thrown on a plate while it waits for the main course to finish. It was a bit pricey, on par with very upscale bistros. Also, we felt we waited a fairly long time for our meal. But, it was worth the price and the time. They offered all patrons complimentary shot of a flavored vodka. A nice touch. Host and wait staff was attentive without being intrusive. Really enjoyed our dinner. There are so few really good fresh seafood places around. It is high on our list when we are looking to celebrate special occasions.

We have been coming here since they opened, the food is always fantastic, and the service is great as well. The owner, Frank is always very friendly and loves to come up with creative dishes. You will not be disappointed!

The venue is lovely, however, they were severely short staffed. My menu was filthy. It had a large spill of some sort in the upper right quadrant of the page. It took over 10 minutes after we were seated before the server came over to introduce herself and to get water. We immediately ordered cocktails, and after waiting nearly 10 minutes, we left and went to another restaurant where we were seated immediately. I may give them another try, but without my husband who refuses to return. We weren't the only ones waiting for service as I was watching other tables around us looking for here.

Quiet night at Vault 232. Food was great and server put in a complimentary fire shrimp appetizer for our party of 5. Great place to celebrate the holidays!

The best food I've had in a long time! We had the Chilean sea bass & the scallops on bacon. Seasonings were delish. There was a phenomenal apple crisp that I could have eaten much more of! The atmosphere inside an old bank was fun & beautifully decorated. This is a hidden gem in the heart of Lake Zurich. GO there everybody!
