Vault 232 Restaurant and Bar

The food was excellent and the service also. The menu has a focus on fish and shellfish but plenty for meat lovers too. Atmosphere nice, even though it was not very busy. The set up is quite unique with a raw bar and a fish market selling fresh produce as part of the restaurant. The bar looked inviting. We will definitely be returning. It's definitely worth a visit.

Great food and really nice restaurant theme. We sat at the high tops over by the bar area and it was really nice. We loved all of our food and it was prepared excellently. Fresh oysters on the half shell, fresh fish, pasta, and more. This is our second time coming and will not be our last. One recurring problem with this restaurant is the loud volume of the live music - much too loud to allow conversation, or easily hear our server. When we asked our server if it can be made quieter, she showed irritation and said she could ask the manager, but it won't make any difference. So I asked the manager Kevin directly, would you please consider toning down the music volume on behalf of your patrons? We would all visit more often if we could enjoy all aspects of this great restaurant. Thank you.

I've been here in the past few years since it's opened and I think they finally got it right! The menu was a bit confusing at the start but it's been revamped and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. We will be coming back!

The brushetta is amazing. The Tacos and burgers were great during g happy hour. The dinners are fabulous especially the salmon.

We enjoyed our visit and will definitely return. The bread board was excellent, as were the cocktails and dinner. The atmosphere was relaxed and there was a lovely violinist performing while we're there.

The food was delicious. Fresh baked bread to die for. Steak done to perfection and perfectly sautéed scallops. The sax player was good too!

Was hoping for alfresco, but we're told that the chair pads were wet, and there was no outdoor dining The music was not very good as some older guy with a questionable voice try to sing oldies Made it a bit noisy On the positive side, the food was excellent. The service was good and the restaurant had decent ambience.

We've had good experiences at Vault 232 in the past. Last night wasn't one of them. One of the appetizers was overcooked and frankly pretty mediocre. The Grouper was tough and VERY overcooked. The best thing we had was actually dessert. I would get different entrees and appetizers next time. Service was very slow last night as well. We'll go again, but last night was very unimpressive.

they do not list all ingredients on the menu our server could not answer questions as we had people with food allergies! One person got sick shortly after leaving assuming her salad was cross contaminated with seafood very disappointing!

Their menu looks great. We ordered, fire shrimp, surf & turf, fish fry and Poorboy. The steak was too salty, the lobster was bland, they didn't bring butter for the lobster tail or give me a steak knife. The fish and chips were salty. The lobster Mac and cheese was a lobster tail on top of rigatoni with a white sauce that tasted like store bought, premade that came out a glass jar. They were understaffed, our waitress had 6 tables. But Janeth always had a smile on her face and checked up on us regularly. Great service! The Vault in an old bank, one of the dining rooms is in the bank vault. Cool concept. I don't think I'll be going back to The Vault anytime soon.

We had an early reservation, and the place was quite empty. We opted to sit at the bar and had a good bartender / server. The low score on my food review was because the Chilean Sea Bass we ordered was a bit bland and overcooked. We told the server right away, but there was no move on his part to change it out... When we finished, we told him again we were disappointed, and he said since we ate it they weren't willing to adjust the bill. I sent a note to the restaurant the same day and never heard back. I should have been more assertive, but the restaurant should have stepped up and didn't.

Another fabulous dinner! The service from Kevin and his family is hands on wonderful. The food is amazing and there are so many choices. They have two all You can eat options during the week. Small plates are a great way to be budget friendly but eat good food. Music last night was also a great treat. Saxophone player rocked! See you again soon.

This is absolutely one of the best restaurants in Lake Zurich. Tried it for the 1st time early on Thursday night celebrating my wife’s yearly raise and bonus. The location itself is classy, quiet and clean, with a cool history that they embrace and share, and convenient parking, 5/5. They weren’t super busy yet and the service was outstanding, 5/5. Our waiter (Lali I think?) was friendly, very knowledgeable about the menu, and checked on us often. Additionally, the owner himself came to our table three times to chat and see how we were liking everything. The food was amazing, 5/5! The steak tartare was prepared in a way we’d never had and was very good. The seafood tower was the only “expensive” thing on the menu (market price) but so worth it. It rivaled the best fresh/raw seafood we’ve had at oceanfront places in Florida! The Burrata/beet salad was very tasty, and the Bacon Double Stacked burger was as good as you could want a burger to be. Dessert was a delicious slice of cheesecake and a couple of 5 star espresso martinis at Happy hour pricing. All in all one of the best restaurant experiences we’ve ever had. Celebrate your special occasions here, you’ll be glad you did!

I had an amazing lunch at Vault 232! The food was absolutely delicious, the ambiance was beautiful, and the service was friendly and attentive. I can’t wait to come back for dinner and make this a weekly spot for my family! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fabulous dining experience. Looks like they host events as well! Gorgeous banquet space!!
