Wanted something different for this morning and headed over to Lebanon. They use more seasoning than just salt & pepper here and it’s really tasty. Everyone working here seems to be family. I don’t want to make it too crowded for me to come back, but I’d say it’s worth it. We’ll be back :-)
I love going to The Lantern because of their delicious food, friendly staff, and cozy atmosphere! The seasonal menu changes keep things fresh, although it’s great that they keep certain items on the menu all year. I am always warmly greeted each time I walk through the door, the portions are very generous, and Adam (the chef/owner) is always so nice about coming out of the kitchen to make sure we are enjoying the food that day. When my family and I were stationed at Scott AFB, we loved going to The Lantern. Great atmosphere and great service. The food was always wonderful. That dill ranch on a salad is top-notch. The bad reviews are from people just wanting to complain, so take it with a grain of salt. The long wait is usually a good sign, either packed because of the wonderful food. The Lantern is one of the main reasons I miss Illinois.
