One of best breweries in central Illinois. Great beer selections. Nice patio area. They are constantly offering food trucks at their location. Owners are friendly. Staff us helpful. Convenient public parking nearby.
The waitstaff was friendly, and beer selection is a good mixture of different styles of beer.
What an unexpected delight. I was passing through Lexington on a business trip and thought I would try someplace new. I'm sure glad that I did. About 10 beers on tap with other options available. My server was engaging and friendly. I did a beer flight and was very happy with everything I sampled. If I didn't have another 30 miles to drive, I could have happily stayed for a full pint. Very cool atmosphere.
Analytical Brewing is a nice small brewery in Lexington IL. Industrial design with woods and metals. The server was nice and they found several spots for tables plus outdoor seating (with good food next door). They had 10 beers on tap for my stop. Beers included an imperial double stout and imperial double chocolate stout, red ale, farmhouse ale, NEIPA, American IPA, Imperial IPA, Blonde, strawberry blonde, and a fruited sour. Music is solid, they have table games, salty snacks, not a bad spot to stop with a friend or two. I would stop again to see what new beer they came up with.
After making a mistake entering a phone number, and sending a gift card purchased on line to the wrong person, I called Analytical Brewing. Staff were extremely helpful, despite the error being my own. Ultimately Brian, one of the co-owners, looked into the matter further and refunded my money! I so appreciated such great customer service!
Fantastic craft beers with a small hometown vibe. It's perfect!
It's like a nerd calling card.... And the beer is tasty too
It was our first time visiting, but we will be back for sure. We had a great time. Staff was super friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect for this place

Don’t over analyze this blog post.
Until a rather fun trip to Evergreen Farm Brewing, I had never heard of Analytical Brewing or Lexington, IL for that matter. Emily saw a shirt for the brewery at Evergreen and we made plans to go there at our earliest convenience.
We strolled in with an empty belly and a hankering for a few beers. We brought food from the next door ice cream shack called The Shake Shack and the bartender said it was perfectly fine to eat it inside. I grabbed a beer called 40 Horse Limit and Emily got the Aronia Berry Shandy. We grabbed a table near the front of the brewery and got to work on our sandwiches and drink.
The building that houses Analytical may have been a prior oil change place or automotive place? We sat by a large bay door that looks like it opens up on nice weather days. Or maybe that’s just something they built into the brewery. Either way, I bet it’s nice to sit in the brewery and sip beers with it open. The brewery itself is small. It feels more like your standard bar in size but they obviously make their own beers (while offering some fun non-alcoholic drinks as well).
The beer I got was pretty dang tasty. Blondes are my usual go-to if a place doesn’t have a german/belgain-style or wheat beer on hand. I strongly debated getting a 4-pack to go but talked myself out of it. I tried a sip of Emily’s shandy and it wasn’t too bad. Not my cup of beer, but I could see why she liked it. After we ate our food, we sat there and play some Uno that we bought on the way there. They had a ton of board games to pick from and we ended up grabbing the tic-tac-toe and Connect 4 to play after Uno. I love when bars, breweries, coffeehouses, etc have board games to play.
We hung out here for about an hour and a half. In that time, we were about the only people there (aside from a couple that was already there when we arrived). By the time we polished off our second beer and decided to leave, they were setting up for trivia night and people started to slowly pour in.
Analytical Brewing is really neat and nice brewery in the heart of a small town with not much to do. And its close enough to Bloomington/Normal that it doesn’t feel like a chore to go out of your way to stop in. Hopefully the town supports the business and they will be slinging beers for a long time to come.
Cheers, reader.
