Even when the restaurant was empty, they didn't have a chef come and cook food in front of us, and they STILL charged us a service fee of $50. They chose to start conversations. But overall, the food was good, but the fried rice was burnt.

Food is amazing, Kenny was our chef and he was great! It as our first time doing hibachi and they definitely made an effort to show us a good time. Steak was the best thing we had ordered, it is pricy but definitely worth it for when u want a fancy night out.

Hawakawa has been a staple in my life bc the staff is always very courteous, fast, and friendly. A great place to have a nice dinner! and check out their lunch menus! great atmospheric place and great ambience all around. they even have a koi fish pond! 10/10
Parking: do not park in Liberty restaurant next door. theres plenty of spaces in the back of the restaurant, as well as along the side.

I had a great experience here. I enjoyed all of the different selections. The hibachi was on another level and gave me a new outlook on life. The different meats such as tuna, chicken, or steak were prepared very well and tasted super good. The sushi selection was also very tasty and provided a wide variety for my group. Our chef was so enthusiastic and made some jokes which added to my great experience. I would definitely come back.

It was only my wife and I in the restaurant so we got a private show. Great showmanship by the chef who prepared chicken and scallops which were excellent. They also have a gluten free option so I'll be taking the test of the family since my daughter is celiac

Our initial reservation was canceled by Google, they sat us down a few minutes later though so all was good. We got sat and service was really nice, atmosphere was good too! What really bummed us out though was our Chef. He was super unenthusiastic and looked like he was forced to be there, but the food he made was very very good. When they came out to clap for my birthday, the chef was straight faced the entire time and walked away as soon as he possibly could. Other chefs around us were more excited, we just got unlucky with ours. Great food, the chef could have just been better

We eat hibachi ALOT and I must say that this place is a keeper! We were in town overnight for an event and looked up the closest hibachi restaurant. Many were closed since it was a Monday, but Hanakawa was open. We stopped by and were extremely pleased!
Please note: they give you ALOT of food!!! A little pricey, but worth it. If you order a hibachi combo, it will come with the typical soup, salad, and rice PLUS a side order of certain appetizers!!! We chose the California roll, gyoza and tempura shrimp. All were VERY good. We ordered shrimp with calamari, shrimp with salmon, and golden shrimp with calamari. The golden shrimp was extremely fresh and steamed to perfection. Their teriyaki sauce was SO good!!! The veggies were a little onion heavy, but I worked around it. When we're in town again, this will definitely be a stop!!!

I thought that I was I was given smaller portions of the vegetables in particular. He gave huge smounts to the other party and my grandson and i had very little variety of vegetables and had very small amount with mostly onions. I was dissatisfied with the vegetables. We also got less rice. He focused on the other family, not much on us. The soup salad , shrimp snd stedl were cooked excellent. They forgot my shrimp appetizer which was a little awkward. I give it 4 stars

Food is fantastic and definitely worth the price. You are getting real authentic sushi here none of that store bought stuff! Highly recommend the crab Rangoon roll!
