Everything is here is always so good
Female owner very patronizing and curt. Not friendly at all, she should treat her customers better. It really turns a lot of people off from returning.
Best butter cookies. Been eating them the for 40 years. Including previous location ran by first generation
By far and away, the best bakery for coffee cakes, strudels and specialty danish in the Chicagoland area. We drive from downtown to buy all their treats.
The people that work there make it such a fun and welcoming experience. The cakes are delicious, light, and tasty!

I wanted to bring something nice to a meeting I’m going to on Saturday, so I called for pricing info. The first time I called, they left me on hold and forgot about me. The second time, they picked up the phone and just hung up on me without saying a word. The third time, the phone rang and rang, and when they finally answered, they were rushing me to get off the phone.
They don’t have any small Halloween cookies, and the big ones are $4.95 per cookie.
Thanks but no thanks, but I’ll take my business elsewhere.
Just because I called on the phone doesn’t make me less important than one of their in-person customers.

Bakery goods fresh but pricey. 7 pastries for $49 gave me sticker shock. Understand it’s inflated times but unfortunately too costly to go there regularly!
We've been patronizing Schlegl's for more than 30 years and continue to be impressed by the quality of their baked goods, the freshness of their products, the friendliness of counter staff (even at their busiest like on Paczki Day), the variety of sweets and breads, and the value for your money. This is one of a dying breed of neighborhood bakeries that doesn't disappoint.
