We stopped in on Sunday 3/16/2025 on way home from Springfield.
I saw tablecloths and cloth napkins thought we would be out of place. Far from it. From the hostess, to waitress, bus boys made everyone feel so welcome. I wish I could remember our waitresses name, she was so good, friendly, knowledgeable. Fried chicken was awesome, as was my husband's chicken fried steak, soup and salad bar.
So to the very pretty young lady with the long wavy hair thank you for making us feel so welcome, making fresh coffee and never letting cup get empty.
We would drive the 100 miles from home again to eat here.

Great menu but so long wait, all tables full of dirty stuff. Staff running around and not working very efficient . Such a same for a place on the route 66.

We had lunch and there was a salad buffet and 2 types of soups served with bread and cookies!! The WONDERFUL desserts!! The service is very good and the girls are very friendly!! It's worth the stop for lunch!!!

This was a cute local restaurant. They have a nice salad bar. It was very popular because it was all you could eat fried chicken night on Thursday. Prices are reasonable. I do not recommend the buffalo chicken horseshoe. The cheese sauce is the most bland cheese I've ever had. The deserts looked fabulous.

During my road trip last year, I noticed this highly rated restaurant and decided to stop there. Not disappointed, the waitress was friendly, good food and atmosphere.
We didn't eat here because the wife wasn't hungry yet. But a must stop on route 66 in Illinois.

This was our first meal during our 10 day Route 66 trip, and it still stands out to us now that the trip is complete. I love that they bring a dessert tray to the table when you finish your meal, and it felt special to eat here during their 100 anniversary year while doing our Route 66 trip. The food was great and it was a relaxing dinner after our first day of driving.

What is a typical five star restaurant no but was it a five star fresh delicious homemade food off the highway & not fast food absolutely! AND this place has been around for 100 years. I recommend it to anyone who is tired of fast food with a flashback to the past #Route66
