Hadn’t been there in a while, was extremely disappointed in the new kiosk self-serve thing. Steak and Shake isn’t cheap so I shouldn’t have to wait on myself, but I did and even left a tip.. The place was maybe 25% capacity and I sat there for 45 minutes watching people that arrived after I did get their food. After 45 minutes I handed my receipt to an employee and told them I wasn’t waiting any longer… she said thanks, come again. No refund, not explanation. I will never step foot into a Steak and Shake again. Freddie’s is better anyway.

I did not eat here as when I walked in I stood there at the counter for 10 minutes before someone talked to me and then they told me you have to order through the kiosk. If you can't have a real person serve me I don't want to eat here. I walked out. I went across the street to the Huddle House where I got great service and paid about the same.

It's a very nice store but it is a traditional burger place all self service. So nothing memorable

Placed a online order - went thru drive up to pick it up - young girl with blonde hair comes out telling me since their screens where full her manager told me I had to come in to get it - like im gonna waste my time to come inside for you? Just do your job as you get paid! Stop being a rude manager!

Fries were cold and for 15$ a meal you would think they would be fresh

It has been a long time since I've eaten at a Steak 'n Shake. Let me tell you NOTHING compares to French fries fried in beef tallow. NOTHING!!
Service was very good, very quick and brought me exactly what I wanted. Cheese fries and a very sloppy double steakburger with cheese, onion, pickles, mayo, mustard sauce and a handful of napkins.
The men's restroom was clean and stocked with paper, soap and hot water.

Staff not welcoming at all. They force you to use self checkout, fell terrible for elderly individuals. Ordered a triple cheeseburger and sadly enough McDonald's burgers are now larger than this place. Going down hill quickly.

Extremely Disappointed – Avoid This Location

As a truck driver, I depend on quick, reliable service—especially at locations next to truck stops, like this Steak ’n Shake in Litchfield, IL. I’ve stopped here three times, and every time has been a disappointment.

Today, I placed a mobile to-go order ahead of time, planning to pick it up quickly and stay on schedule. Instead, I had to wait 28 minutes, even though my order was placed with plenty of time to be ready. When I finally got it, they had forgotten the condiments and straws for my drinks.

To make matters worse, the lobby was closed (with no clear signage), and apparently I was supposed to wait in the drive-thru lane—which I wasn’t told. Other customers in line were also frustrated and complaining about the same delays and confusion.

On top of all this, I’m still waiting on a refund from the first time I ordered online here. That time, the location was closed, even though it showed as open online—and I was charged anyway.

This is by far the worst Steak ’n Shake I’ve visited in my years on the road. Disorganized, poor communication, and no accountability. Do not stop here until serious changes are made.

I had a western burger that was just like I imagined it before the corporation split. the fries were done to perfection and the woman at the window was cheerful and ready to serve. I even called the compliment, although the manager seemed to be focused on the operation as a response back was sort of mute. overall great experience
