We visited the Vegan Cafe last week on our way from Starved Rock back to Chicago. We couldn't believe there was such an amazing raw food spot in a small town like Lockport - the food was super, super delicious. We had two of the appetizers, nachos and pizza bites - they were filling and outstanding. The cheesecake was so good I had to order another one for the road. I was skeptical to eat there because I didn't have particularly satisfying experience eating raw food at a restaurant before, but I'm so glad i did. I wish i could eat there all the time! Can't wait to be back. Also, the people at the restaurant were super nice.

LOVE this spot & what they have to offer! Recently tried their gyro plate off of their September Vegan Chef Challenge menu & was so satisfying 🤌🏼 I feel like I have to go back & get it once more before its gone bc Im not sure if it will be a permanent menu item!
🌯 The corn & flax wrap that they use instead of a pita blew my mind bc it was SO tastey & held all the walnut & sun-dried tomato based meaty goodness, cashew tzatziki & onions inside so perfectly ~ this handheld was a picture of perfection that just delighted my lil' gluten-free heart 🤤 After I devoured it, I wished there was more (Seriously I could've ate double.. can we put more meaty goodness in there? lol)
& with the full plate, I got to try both sides of the tossed Mediterranian style salad w/ homemade vegan feta crumbles & apple citrus salad. Everything was so fresh & vibrant! That feta was delicious, tho I had to crumble it a bit, I was so impressed with how tastey it was. The dressing was flavorful & light. & the fresh fruits with cinnamon drizzle was such a treat. I couldn't have asked for a better lunch 💙
🥃 Also loved the fruity apple cider iced tea that I picked up for just $2 bucks! Love me some fresh tea, it was so refreshing & the little cup of raw agave they gave me to sweeten it was perfect!
All in all I highly recommend this spot, one of the ONLY all raw, all vegan, all GF cafes in the greater Chicagoland area! They have a huge menu & you can tell that everything is made mindfully & with yummy in mind. Being someone who lives on a budget, I'm choosey in where I spend my dollars as I can't afford to splurge on take out all the time ~ for the average low-income person their menu can be a tad pricey 🙈 (my only discontent) But the offerings here are worth it, especially considering its organic & scatch-made, your belly wont be disappointed & neither will your peace of mind. I wish I could've gotten more, so much I want to try! Omgosh I havent even tried the deserts yet! Such good vibes in this food & the owner/staff are friendly too! 🙌🏽 Thank you for a great experience! Cant wait to visit again 💯

Just incredible - delicious food, adorable atmosphere and phenomenal service. Everyone needs to eat here, vegan or not! Their dishes excel at both I-can’t-believe-it’s-not-meat and plateful-of-plants, and the flavors are a celebration of freshness. I wish I lived close enough to eat here every day!

If you never knew what DELICIOUS was you can experience it at the Vegan cafe! We were just passing through on the way to Chicago and as raw vegans wanted a meal. First of all the service was impeccable so that just began the experience with a smile the frequency of the food definitely makes for a cheerful and bright disposition! However when we arrived and received our order OMG the presentation even in a to go box was with such care then we got the first bite and when I tell you we lived!!!! This food is to live for if you are passing through or even if you live in the area don’t let this precious jewel become a rare gem. This business is a must! Thank you so much vegan cafe for an amazingly delicious and satiating meal.
