The food portions were not small but not large. They were just perfect and delicious. I had the filet and it was cooked perfectly. The server was the part owner of the restaurant, so that was an added touch. Overall, the experience was great, I'd go back again.
At first everything about Avanzare seemed perfect. A quiet, intimate Italian restaurant. The staff was super friendly and easy to get along with. The issues began when our steaks arrived: 1- I don't even know how to cook a ribeye so that half of it is medium rare and the other half rare, like mine was. I ordered medium, but since it was my wife's birthday I kept my mouth shut and chewed the gooey mess. Then I see my wife's steak. Half medium, half well done? Seriously?...
Had a wonderful time (as always) We come every year around this time. It is always an enjoyable experience. The food is always delicious and cooked to perfection. All of the items we ordered on the menu tasted superb. The gnocchi w/asparagus had amazing flavor. The salmon was cooked great, potatoes, broccoli and spinach were tasty. My father had the Veal Marsala which he said was terrific with sides. The waiter is good and busboys do a great job. See you again soon! :)
