A ramen shop in Yorktown Mall? I had to try this for myself. Right off the bat, my impressions were mixed. The people working there were helpful, but almost TOO helpful. I've eaten at Mitsuwa’s Santouka and Ramen Misoya, I'm no stranger to ramen. They came across as almost condescending in a way, as a result. On the other hand, they do offer broth samples, which is nice.
I decided to give it a try and came away thoroughly unimpressed. As another review stated, the broth is flavorless. The toppings don't do much to help, and the noodles didn't have a very appealing texture. Perhaps I've just been spoiled by the rich, savory tonkotsu broth at Santouka, but honestly, Maruchan instant ramen has more flavor, even if that flavor is mostly salt.
Update 04/13/2025- Not sure when exactly this happened, but Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai, a legit ramen chain direct from Japan, has opened a location in the shopping center across Highland from Yorktown. If you want ramen, don't bother with this place at all. I've eaten at the first Kitakata in Hoffman Estates and if the Lombard location comes even remotely close to the original, it'll blow this D-grade ramen stall outta the water.
Very Delicious in the Mall and One of the best I have tasted even The Poke is absolutely Delicious and clean Taste

The worker was VERY rude, i went up to ask about a side and some napkins and he snaps about being busy and cant i see, then when it looks like hes done i was asking about something he snaps again and just points to the sushi so i go to grab it then he flips that its not my order and raises his voice just reprimanding me. Mind you he had 3 orders to do. Was ridiculous and rude i dont care how busy you feel you dont treat a customer that way. Never returning.
Got the Spicy Beef Ramen soup.. it smelled rotten. Tried a bite but gagged on the bad meat smell. I'm pregnant and my nose knows when something is spoiled. When I returned it right away, the man kept yelling at me and told me to shut up. Told me never to come back! No duh!!! TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK!

The older gentleman is not very kind. I went there today, Saturday, November 30 at 2 PM and he said “ I cannot take your order I’m out of everything” when I can clearly see you, because it’s a kiosk, that they had everything they needed to fulfill my order, but he would not even give me a chance to Speak. I’ve had countless terrible experiences at this location so I will not be back, it’s really sad because when they first opened, it seemed like a quality establishment but now it’s been nothing but chaos. Incredibly disappointing. In a time when malls are dying, you think that they would want the business but I guess not. Zero stars.

Went here yesterday (10/16/24) with intentions to pickup my food but no one was there around 7:50P. Ended up going to Sarku?Japan instead.

Same as other reviews! Unfortunately, placed an order and no one was at the restaurant. There's no working number to request a refund. I wish I would have checked the reviews before loosing $30 and my time.
No one is ever at the counter. I decided to try to order on the kiosk, but it wouldn't let me customize my meal, so I cancelled. Then a guy came out and took my order. It took 10 minutes for my food. I ordered the BBQ pork rice bowl with no egg (food allergy. ) It was very disappointing. It was $15 for a bowl of rice with some broccoli and 5 thinly sliced pieces of pork. It was way overpriced for a bowl mainly just of rice.
I don't recommend it and won't be going back.

Mall ramen
Talk about corporate greed... Soda syrup is so cheap. Makes you wonder who's getting the tips from this machine.
