We sort of fell upon Joanie's when we went to the Strawberry Festival in Long Grove and it was the star attraction for all of us!!! My husband and I had the most delicious salad that we completely devoured in record time along with that mouthwatering cheesy pizza that we ordered along with it!!! My Mom and Aunt ordered the chicken and Mom commented...."Now that's the way chicken is supposed to be made!!!" They were served a large tray with 4 LARGE pieces of chicken, potatoes, and long buns!!! They took half of it home and had it for dinner tonight!!! But the piece de resistance was the hot homemade strawberry rhubarb pie with vanilla ice cream that seriously 4 of us shared!!!! Wow!!! What a treat!!! Oh... and....Our meals were served Hot....not cold....HOT...out of the oven.....again, the way a meal should be served! HOT!!! ha ha ha...The ambience was fun and the view of the water from our vantage point was just breathtaking!!! Our server Derrick was such a nice young man! He was professional, made certain that we were ok, and went back and forth many times for those extra things that we needed for our meal!!! I'm certain that it was very hectic for all of the servers during the fest, but they handled the crowds so well!!! Again, we were just thrilled to have stumbled on Joanie's!!! It's worth going back for seconds, thirds, fourths....etc....ha ha ha

Disappointed. Joanie's was always so good. This visit they've changed the menu and cut out some favorites. The service was extremely slow and they didn't check back to make sure things were ok or if we needed anything else. Food was still very good and came out nice and hot.
The fried chicken is outstanding. It isn't greasy nor dry. It's consistently delicious. Their potatoes are spot on. If you want pizza, theirs is always good. Even their gluten free is good and so is the cauliflower crust pizza is a winner.
We sat outside undercover and it was so nice. We heard the water rushing from the fountain and it was so peaceful. We both had cauliflower pizzas and they were delicious. Great local place.
Boasted chicken is juicy and flavorful. We always have a good experience whenever we come to Joanie's.
Food was delicious and staff very attentive. I had the broasted chicken, tender and great flavor, husband enjoyed the spaghetti .
The staff was incredibly welcoming, and the food was fresh and served right on time. Everything exceeded expectations. I'll definitely be coming back!”
Excellent dining experience. The broasted chicken was outstanding, the salad with fresh chicken was excellent, and the service was first rate. I highly recommend this place!
food is great, noise level is a little high, I will return when the weather warms up and I can sit inside
I like Joanie's and was looking forward to pizza and chicken. Both weren't good. The Detroit style pizza was burned on the edges creating a black char which impacted taste. Not good. The broasted chicken was greasier than usual and the usually tasty “crust” didn't taste as good as before. I also tasted some of my friend's cubed potatoes which were unbelievably salty. I had to ask for a refill on my soda. One other thing. One of the bus boys didn't speak English and didn't understand when we asked for silverware. Teach then the basics. I hope it was just a bad night. But I'm very concerned that one of my favorite places with unique food choices, isn't as good as it used to be.

The Detroit pizza is the best. Along with the Mediterranean salad. It's a very solid restaurant
We had the broasted chicken dinners. Food was delicious, hot and looked appetizing. Service was a bit slow to start but was good overall. Very friendly. Will definitely return.
We were there on Valentine's Day so it was rather busy. Food was very good but took quite a while to arrive. I wanted to try something new so Ordered the pork chops but were later told they were out so had to choose again. Drink refills were rather slow but as I mentioned they were busy. We've been here several times and will be back. Solid choice for dinner.
My toddler ate the most I've ever seen him eat in his existence. Safe to say he approves of the pizza.
Update: we went back again and can confirm Joanie's continues to be my toddler's favorite pizza.
