What have they done to their chips n salsa? Chips don't taste like they used to and the salsa was so bland I couldn't eat it!

We had an excellent dinner here on 1/5/24. Staff was friendly and attentive. Had the tasty guac appetizer, a combo platter, tacos dinner and shrimp fajitas dinner between three of us. All the food was excellent, nicely cooked with great flavors. We hadn't been here for a few years but glad we came!

Very oily salsa and the meat was super salty and oily. And the plates here are very dirty and sticky. Waitress seemed friendly but took almost 30 min to finally take our order. Im sorry but this isn't real Mexican food.Parking: Parking lot is very bumby. Holes are filled with gravel.

Tamales are awful!! The masa is thick and the beef filling is minimal. The chips and salsa came with stale chips. Server came and took my plate of uneaten food, never thought to ask why the plate was still full. Hmm, this used to be a good restaurant, not so much now. I do not recommend coming here. At least not for tamales or chips & salsa.

Not a fan of the food. My enchiladas were barely hot and not very tasty. Tables were dirty and I never saw any waitresses ever clean them. Service was good but I wouldn’t go back.

Their salsa is enchilada sauce. The service is ok. I do know what noodle thing is inside the "salsa" and the whole place is americanized.

The salsa tastes and looks like marinara sauce. Everyone's food was soggy. The appetizer sampler is just heaped up garbage on a plate, and not authentic (pretty sure deep fried jalapeno poppers aren't traditional Mexican cuisine). I didn't even realize the center heap was nachos until I found a few soaked and floppy tortillas that were chip shaped underneath.Steak tacos were dry, which normally doesn't bother me at other restaurants because I just splash some salsa on them, but wasn't going to put marinara on these tacos.The shrimp fajitas tasted fine, but paying over $20 for 10 medium shrimp, onions, green peppers, and 4 tortillas is a bit much. There was only enough fajita ingredients to make 3 fajitas, and the 4th tortilla was left at the table. Never had that happen at a Mexican restaurant before, especially for the price.Definitely won't be back. Considering we were the only people in the restaurant, I feel like many others feel the same way.The Mexican coke was good, so if you are somehow forced to go there, just order that.*Edited for the waitress.You were nice. No complaints.Yes, we ate the appetizer. Mostly our kids ate it. They were hungry and their favorite restaurant is McDonald's, so don't pat yourselves on the back for quality.We also ate most of our entrees. This included threats of losing electronics if the kids didn't eat their food.The four of us, including two kids, spent $140 on this disappointing meal.So yeah, this was tonight's dinner and we weren't going to stop anywhere else on the way home. Pushing through eating an expensive and underwhelming meal did not mean we liked it or will be back, it meant we had sunk costs and weren't going to dump anymore money for one night's dinner.Sorry we weren't more direct in our feedback, but we didn't want spit in our food.
