Fun menu with a lot of unique vegan options.

A brewery and all-vegan restaurant conveniently located near the interstate which sounded great and pulled off for a lunch-dinner. It happened to be at the same time as a community book fair so it was busy, but we sat outside so noise wasn't so bad. I ordered the quinoa bowl thinking it would be more of a dense grain bowl but it was more of a salad. I'm not a crazy salad person but this bowl was amazing. The fries and tots were delicious and everyone enjoyed their sandwiches! An absolute gem in Illinois!

We came to Pig Minds for the Boozy Book Fair event. We come out from Chicago whenever we can because we love this restaurant. When we first came in, the host asked us if we were there for the book event, we said yes. They told us to go to the back and order from the bar. We wanted to do table service because we wanted to have a relaxing sit down lunch before we walked around the outdoor book fair. After a couple back and forths it seemed pretty clear they wanted us to go to the back, so we did. We sat down in the back. While looking at the menu someone came up to the table and said she would serve us. We told her if it’s too busy we can order from the bar, she insisted that we could be served at the table and that it was no problem at all. She was so nice and turned a negative start into a really exceptional service experience. We started with the Garlic Fries and Shiitake Pot Stickers. The pot stickers were great, crispy and savory with a fantastic sesame sauce for the dip. The garlic fries were really good too but holy garlic Batman! Are they ever garlicky?!? There’s A LOT of garlic on there. I had the patty melt with the side salad. I always think I’ll try something different but it’s so good that I keep coming back to it. The caramelized onions melding with the cheese and patty are just so good. Matt had the Mac and cheese pizza. The pasta was just the right texture for a pizza topping and the sauce was tasty but not overly wet. It was an excellent pizza. The food is always great here but what really made this a five star experience was our phenomenal server.

How can you not like a full vegan brewery with delicious menu! Worth the detour if you are around. Go there blindly, you won't be disappointed

Love the variety of items on the menu. We had the Rueben sandwich and it was very hearty and delicious! Our server was friendly and efficient. It was also a pleasant evening so we enjoyed sitting outside on the patio. We will be back!

Happy Cow makes traveling so much easier! We would never have found this place on our own. Food was delicious and the beers we tried were very good. The blueberry-lemon crumb cake was amazing - save room! Our server Ashlyn was excellent. Will definitely return if we’re ever in the area again.

As a vegan, im sad not to give this a higher rating. In fact I’m being generous with my rating, because I feel somewhere offering vegan food should be given major props!

We’ve been going here for years and when they were newer they were great!! (I would have given 5 stars). However, the past year has just been a slow downfall for us. They were unique when they made their patties in house and had faux chicken from tindle (which my kids loved!) now they seem to focus on impossible and beyond meats which are horrible! And just boring. We drive from Madison to visit and when we saw the amount of impossible and beyond meats on our last visit we were turned off. Kids gave it a shot, and they weren’t happy either. Not to mention there’s always a waitress there that has been rude to us or tries to seat our family of five in a tiny table in the front room. We typically try to avoid her because the rest of the staff is great! I get it, you guys get busy, but we clearly are an annoyance to her when we ask to wait for a larger table. Overall, it use to be worth the drive on a weeknight, because beer is great (nope, amazing!)! Food use to be! But now I’d just see it as an option for a vegan if you happen to be driving through or in the area.

The pizza was so spicy we could not eat it. We brought it home and let or friend try it and they agreed. Our experience over the last year is the spice level of the food is all over the map. There is no good reason to make pizza or most food this spicy unless you advertise it that way.

My spouse and I were there for bingo night.had to stand in line for 15 minutes to place order for drink and food. Was buzzed for food and when I went down to get food it was sitting out in the open next to the bar and I had to ask other costumers to move to gain access to the food that we ordered. I this to be qiut unsanitary.

Hate having to do this, because we love this place. The food was great, and the following has nothing to do with the waitresses and bartenders. The food and drinks were both very good and regular service here is great too. However, we played trivia tonight, and we have played it here since they started having it. Instead of having it be on pen & paper as usual; it was on phones which ruined the charm. They had tech issues all night and it was very slow and confusing. Each round took ages and the presenter could never figure out what was going on with the tech issues. The rules changed every round and no one was having fun. It was not a fun time for girls night and there was no spirit to it anymore. The whole vibe changed and we are sad because we loved pigs mind and how it was run before.

For years my partner and I have ordered their holidays meals and while we had problems here and there (missing crackers, instruction sheet missing, etc) this year was too much. Two sides undercooked and cheesecake burnt. Paying $36 per meal we expect better quality and any sort of customer service. Emailing them we received no response. I see we're not valued as customers

For being so rural it’s surprising to find a completely vegan restaurant serving American comfort food. The beer is out of this world! Great selection and friendly people.

Came in with a large group(11). Everything was great. With one exception. There was a band playing who were good. The issue was it was so loud it was borderline painful to be in the room. Very hard to order and could not talk to each other at all.

Hope to return without a band playing or just a lower volume.

Tasty food and beer!

I love going to Pig Minds! I was nervous about it the first time I went, because I am not vegan and worried everything would taste weird after a flashback to some of the first vegan burgers that came outany years ago. My friends, let me tell you that vegan food has come a LONG way in flavor and texture!! I have been back many times and tried a wide variety of the menu. I haven't found anything bad yet. My husband loves their beer, in addition to the food, so it's not a hard sell to go there for dinner, even though it's a solid 40 minute drive to get there.
The only reason I gave 4 stars for service and atmosphere is because it's usually so busy there that the serving staff always seem a little overwhelmed and it gets a little too noisy once in awhile from the acoustics of the space.
I highly recommend setting aside any preconceived ideas of what you think vegan food tastes like and just go try it for a wonderful surprise!
