I'm reviewing Sammy's Pizza in Grand Roaids, MN. We've previously had "okay" service, and "alright" food. Nothing to boast about or recommend to family/friends.
Our service was slow, half the appetizers were cold and lukewarm at best. My cold cup of soup was replaced with being blasting hot and microwaved.
Three of the four main dishes had burnt to the crisp bacon, overdone and charred burgers. I was told they don't make medium burgers ,they are always well done. So basically a hockey puck!
#1 Worst is my kid's platter had a big strand of hair in the food that I pulled out right in front of the waitress. She tried to hide it and get a manager over to talk to me. I was told they would redo the burgers. NO, I was not eating anything after that just happened. I asked to take the 1 decent menu item to go and we were going to leave. She said I could not, and would need to pay for my meals and no adjustments to the bill. We all walked out and will NEVER be going back the "best voted pizza" in Minnesota. What a joke!

We love the pizza and jumbo wings! Delicious! We placed and order for pickup tonight and there was a minor mistake with the order but the manager went above and beyond to fix the situation! It was so kind of her! Customer service is amazing!

Sammy’s was always my go to for years.. St Cloud closed so it’s been a long time since I’ve had Sammy’s. Stopped in Elk River Mn. So disappointing. Lack of sausage, cheese , and sauce we had ordered a large, there was no more than 12 pieces of sausage. I’m not sure if this was a the new normal but as I looked around at other tables they all looked very unappetizing. I have never seen a pizza cut into diamonds instead of squares. Nope probably not going back!☹️

I ordered grilled chicken sandwich with sour dough bread, you would think they would toast it.... NOPE! bread was torn, vegetables were fresh and there was ALOT of chicken on sandwich but it fell apart. My friend said her philly cheese steak would have been better without peppers and so much grease...but the steak itself tasted good, fries were super salty and overcooked, or maybe old dirty oil.

What a rip off… phone order gone wrong… Messed up order and they won’t honor fixing it… They make up excuses not to honor a customer’s legitimate complaint…
I am writing this review about the Sammy’s pizza in Elk River. We have been there twice. Not impressed. The last visit was to purchase a couple of frozen pizzas. We had just gotten back from our cabin in Grand Rapids MN. We purchased 2 frozen pizzas there. We cooked them in our pizza oven. They were as good if not better than the ones when you eat in the restaurant. Sammy’s pizza in Grand Rapids is a notch above most pizza restaurants. We love their food. The pizzas in Grand Rapids puts Elk Rivers to shame. So disappointed. I give Elk River Sammy’s zero stars.

All of the food tasted/was burnt. You could tell it was fried is very old oil. It was all chewy and hard. The wings had literally no sauce to help with how insanely dry they were. The waitress was okay but didn't really care. That food was really bad, don't even bother.

We stopped here on a Saturday evening shortly after opening so it wasn't too busy. I ordered an avocado chicken sandwich and he ordered the sausage pizza. We had the onion rings as an appetizer. All in all, I thought the rings and the chicken on my sandwich were a tad overcooked, but regardless, everything we had was so tasty!! He really enjoyed his pizza and raved about how much he liked the crust and whatever the sausage that was used. We brought the remainder pizza home to my kid who also seemed to enjoy it as well. Other than the crispy chicken being dry, the sandwich was pretty good. The chipotle mayo had a nice kick to it and the onion rings on the sandwich were much more to my liking than that of the appetizer rings. We still had a good experience and plan to return sometime in the future.
