This place used to be a great place to come for dinner, but over the past year or so, it's become a shadow of its former self.We went on a Saturday night and we're greeted at the door by a sign stating they were closing at 7pm - no explanation, just that. The large seating area was almost empty when we arrives at 6pm - there was only one other group there, and two small groups that came after us.Our salads came with plastic-ware utensils instead of metal, the plates...
Excellent pizza, great overall setup of the restaurant. Not what you would expect of a typical Italian Restaurant and definitely much more than what you would expect from a pizza place. The interior looks like a higher end restaurant. I will definitely come back when we are in the area.
Mackies has always been one of my favorites. I lived in Harrisburg and it was always a wait because of how amazing it is. We moved to West Frankfort and started going to the one in Marion. The owner isn’t the nicest person. But the other staff is very nice. I am giving it four stars because of them closing at 7pm. Seems a little early to close.
