My wife grew up in Herrin. When we come to visit her family, we usually go to other eateries. I'm from New England, and we have Delis everywhere. I'm glad we stopped in this trip! I was really craving a salad and some broccoli and cheddar soup. McAlisters nailed it. The chef salad was large and loaded with toppings. The honey mustard dressing was great. The soup was delicious. I wish I had gotten a bowl instead of a cup. I also ordered the spud max. It was HUGE and full of toppings and cooked perfectly. If we were locals, we'd definitely be stopping in frequently. Thank you for a delicious lunch!

I tried it for the first time and I wasn't really impressed. The food wasn't bad but it's not cheap either. The workers were friendly and did a great job. I think though you could find a better place that's cheaper and has the same quality of food

I got a sandwich that was not what I ordered and when the cashier told the manager they refused to replace it even once I brought the sandwich in. First of all it's against the health code to ask for it back, second it shouldn't have mattered when the employee who messed my order up even owned up to it. This does beyond recognition.

Just left this location. I complained twice to the servers about my husband’s sandwich. He received a half sandwich instead of a whole as ordered. Manager never came over to us. $40+ for really mediocre to bad food. Last time we’ll go there. I now know why we were the only ones in there at 6:00 pm. Also, my au jus wasn’t even heated. They served it without realizing the steam table had been unplugged!!!

The counter person walked away before taking our order spent time waiting for her return we watched as many as 6 groups turned and walked out. So did we as we had spent 7 hours behind the wheel and was in no mood for this sub power service.
My wife and I both had pick 2. A cup of soup and a half sandwich. Food was hot, good quality and delivered in a timely manner. The half sandwich seemed a little smaller than expected but otherwise a good experience.

Went on a Saturday evening 6:30ish. Half the dinning room was closed off and the other half 3/4 of the tables were dirty with plates and stuff on then. I counted 5 different employees. I stood at the counter for almost 5 minutes to place a to-go order after dining in before the counter person came out from the back and took my order. I doubt I will be back.

Walked in to order ultimate nachos to go. They made them on a plate as though I was dining in. So they ask if I want them to make new ones or transfer them from the plate to a to go box ( don't ask them to do this) they were just dumped into the box. I also ordered and was charged for broccoli soup. Got all the way home and guess what? NO SOUP!! And the nachos were the consistency of a used dish towel. Done with this place!!!
