I finally made it to Smokin K’s BBQ & Cajun Cuisine after meeting the owner, Mr. Kenny, at Pookies awhile back — and it was absolutely amazing! I’m so glad I stopped in.
Mr. Kenny is a fantastic guy, and the whole crew was great: super friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. The atmosphere is warm and the smells coming from the kitchen are incredible.
I ordered the Mr. Burnz combo with brisket and baked beans, and it exceeded all my expectations. The brisket was tender, juicy, and loaded with that perfect smoky flavor. The baked beans were the ideal sweet-savory side with just the right kick. Everything was hot, fresh, and full of authentic BBQ and Cajun soul.
If you’re looking for great food and even better people, Smokin K’s is the spot. I’ll definitely be back soon. Thanks Mr. Kenny and team for an excellent meal! 🔥🍖
Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Talk about damn good food, the gumbo was awesome. It had so much flavor and spice, it was far from bland and boring. You have got to give this place a try. And they did not hold back on the portion size.

Great bbq ,large portions, I had the pulled pork, it was awsome , some of the softball players I was with didn't finish their fish , brisket, gator bites so I sampled.... it was all great the only thing I was disappointed in was they close at 7 pm , so we went for lunch , would go back but last game is 6...bummer.
Service is quick and very friendly, they got some good sweet tea, I highly recommend this one!!!
Had pulled pork sandwich and hubbies had brisket sandwich. Sandwich had lots of meat it came with pickles. Our side was potato salad, a generous side. Food was delicious!
On the way out I tripped over my own feet and fell. A waitress was there immediately to make sure I was alright and helped me up. Two customers also came to help. Everyone was pleasant and went above and beyond to provide service and assistance.

We just happened to try this place and I was shocked at the quality of the food. Brisket i have tried all across the USA and it's typically hit and miss. I also smoke my own brisket and know how hard they are to get right. This is the best brisket I have ordered. It was so tender and the flavor was perfect. Next the fried okra was also the best we have ate. My wife had the pulled pork and we both thought it was fantastic. I live about 100 miles away and was here for granddaughters softball. I would make a trip just to eat hear again. If you are in Marion, IL you have to go here!

This is NOT, I repeat NOT Texas style barbecue! I'm from Houston, Tx and ate here recently and this place is an outright embarrassment to my home state! Where to start...I ordered a brisket sandwich with potato salad for my self. The bun was soggy, the meat was bland, the bbq sauce was more sweet than anything else. In Texas we love our bbq sauce bold, tangy, smokey, and above all, SPICY! The sweet tasting bbq sauce is a Midwest, not a Texas thing. And the potato salad was an absolute embarrassment! It was clearly store bought and not restaurant made or restaurant quality. I can get better potato salad at Sam's, Kroger, or Schnuck's. I got the pulled chicken sandwich combo with baked beans (allegedly with brisket in it) and a sweet tea for my GF. Same problems with the sandwich with it being bland and soggy. The baked beans were clearly canned beans with absolutely no brisket in it. My GF took two bites and couldn't stomach the thought of eating more. The sweet tea came in an embarrassingly small Styrofoam cup. That is completely un-Texan like. It looked like a sweet tea for someone under 10 years old. If you want good BBQ, go to Rob's BBQ or 17th street. This place is a sham! If they were located in my home state, they'd go out of business quickly!

The best food and service and the sweetest people.
Loved the menu options of brisket with Mac and cheese, Gator, Jambalaya, and so much more i wanted to try. I plan to go back. Brisket was delicious. One of the best I've had that melted in your mouth and was well season and I've had brisket from all over the place including Terry Black's and the original Roy Hutchinson in Texas.

One order came out incorrect. Order was placed for a side of fried okra. Order came out with potato salad. We made them aware and and was told the order would not be corrected. Also told, if we wanted okra we would have to pay for it. Very poor way to treat customers and do business. Staffs customer service skills are very poor. Over priced, poor quality food, preparation and presentation.
