"Sit where ya like!" the owner said to us from a table in the corner. She was seated with a group of friends and family.We squeezed at just about 1:30. It closes at two, but they didn't seem to mind. Pat, the owner and I got to chat one another up. It was nice to get to know about her family, the restaurant, and everything.Pat makes the pies the old fashioned way, "With lard" she whispered to us. Trust me, we were not concerned. Her crust is the best anywhere....
This place is a gem. It is a throwback to an earlier and better era. It is family owned and run, and has been for decades. The food is fresh, tasty, and inexpensive. The staff is incredibly friendly and remembers me even though I only visit once or twice a year.They usually have fresh baked goods (???) for sale. ?
We had the delicious AYCE buffet! Always a wonderful variety of meats, veggies, and numerous salads. The homemade bread and cinnamon rolls are unbelievable! My son also ordered a basket of fried mushrooms- as good as morels!
