This place is definitely a hidden gem. It's only M-F, 11-2, but if you can manage it come here. It is a little pricey but thats only because of this area. It's about $20-$30/person BUT the quality of the food is just stellar! The menu is so different and their specials are fantastic. It's just not your average soup, sandwich, salad place. Everything here is just next level. Absolutely a weekly place to eat.

This place is one of best places to eat. I've had food from them for over 10 yearsand I've never had a bad meal. Love it!

It isn't easy to find a delicious grouper sandwich in central Illinois. But Bimini has a great lunch option for grouper sandwiches. You can have it lightly fried or blackened. You can dine in or carry out. There are also other delicious options.Give it a try!

Love the food here and the people. Lunch was amazing and I got some fresh dried bay leaves from their tree!

This is such a break from the same old coles county restaurants. Nothing in this county comes close to what you can get here. The flavors are light and breezy yet bold. The prices are high but for good reason, and the smell of this place hits you like a truck when you walk in, in the best way possible. As complaints go, the best one you can have is I want more food at more hours of the day. Hard to take friends here when we all work 9-5s. Doesn’t affect my score though, as the food is so good it’s worth the planning it takes to go there.

Such a delicious lunch!! I glt the fried grouper sandwich lunch special and it was amazing, along with the Hemingway tea. A great spot while I'm in town for work. Hopefully they will start taking credit cards soon so I can come more often and expense it :)

This is a great find! I got a taste of Bimini & the Bayou by way of The Keys. This atmosphere is relaxing, with Jazz playing softly in the background. I can't wait to come back for the great service and excellent cuisine!

Place said it was open until 2pm. I walked in at 1:27 and was told they stopped taking orders for the day. I asked what time they are open until, and they said 2 but stop taking orders at 1:30.

It's great to see a restaurant with a new and exciting menu in a small town like Mattoon. It's a small place, with a tropical feel - tables amongst many potted plants (don't brush against the lemon tree!) As you walk in, grab a menu and what you want to drink from the refrigerated display, then proceed to the window to place your order. Specials are posted on the side of the drinks cooler, so take a quick look there as well. After ordering, take a seat and they'll bring your food out when ready. We enjoyed their grilled fish sandwich, and their special pork in green sauce. The bread is good - not your run-of-the-mill buns here. The main downside we experienced was the use of paper plates and plastic cutlery. It's hard to cut a nice piece of pork with a plastic knife! For the price (nearly $40 for the two of us at lunch), I was hoping for dishes and metal utensils.

Unique little lunch spot. Only open 11-2 M-F. Advertised as Floribbean cuisine but the jumbo was all Creole. Crab cakes have a lighter flavor than east coast style. Both dishes were top notch. Not what you'd expect in Mattoon. A bit pricey but the tropical vibe created by the lemon, avocado and pomegranate trees makes up for it.

I had the creole and flourless chocolate cake and it was amazing. Everything was perfect, right down to the rice. So excited to find this place.

They have very good homemade food. They use a basic menu and cook the food as it is ordered. Their prices are in the mid-range or slightly above. It is a low-key quiet type of restaurant. I would recommend you give them a try and see what you think.Parking: Large parking lot
