For the price you pay it's about the same as any other place it tastes good everything was hot when I ordered it and picked it up they sell t-shirts there to let you know that they were the OG of Burger King it right in the downtown area it's kind of off the beaten path from the stores however

Great place to eat! Food is excellent, one of the better burgers I've had and the price only makes it better. Burgers, fries, cheese sticks and drinks for 2 people under $30. Also love the history of this restaurant being the original burger king

Very nice back of house and front of house. The double cheese with everything was cooked fresh, and was absolutely delicious. The fries were crunchy on outside, and soft on inside, and were also fresh. Also got a t shirt! Wonderful place, and will come back if I ever find myself in Matoon again! :

A Mattoon mainstay for many decadesGreat burgers, fries, and ice cream. Your order is taken and tge the classic calling out your number for pickup. Food is made to order, so it takes a few additional minutes, but we'll be worth it. Not part of the Burger King chain, interesting goggle!

Was in the area for work and had to give this place a try. My burger was just okay and didn't feel like there was anything special about the fries. I'll give them another try however when I'm back in town and get a different burger. The ice cream however is delicious. It would definitely be worth a stop here just for the ice cream.

On my last flight to Champaign for work, I decided to take a side trip to Mattoon to check out the original Burger King restaurant. Inside, it is dimly lit with good table spacing and an old school diner feel. On the nose you have the delicious aroma of sizzling burgers and fries in the air. I liked the ambience a lot! I really enjoyed the jr cheeseburger (I had just eaten somewhere else with a friend), which had a flattened type of beef patty similar to Freddy's where I live except with a smaller town, non-chain, home kitchen flare to it. The fries were wonderful also, and the service was super friendly with happy youthful folks working there. I would highly recommend going to the original Burger King if you're ever in this part of Illinois.Parking: Big parking lot with plenty of spaces.
