S2 City Grill & Daquiri Bar - Maywood

⸻ We visited this establishment expecting a fine soul food experience but were greatly disappointed. Upon arrival, we were told to seat ourselves, which set the tone for an unorganized dining experience. Drinks were served in plastic cups, and food came with pre-wrapped silverware—not what you’d expect from a supposedly upscale restaurant. The most frustrating part was having to pay for our meal upfront, including an automatic 18% gratuity. While we always support fair wages for staff, this policy ultimately shortchanged our server, who was the best part of the experience (and would have earned a better tip had the service and food been up to par). Unfortunately, the food itself was underwhelming—cold, lacking seasoning, and in the case of the dirty rice, microwaved to the point of being dry. Throughout our meal, no staff member checked in for refills or additional drink orders. We always strive to support local, women, and minority-owned businesses, but this was not an experience I could recommend to my clients. I hope the management takes steps to improve, as the potential is there, but execution was seriously lacking. ⸻

This place turns into a nightclub after a certain time and you will get attacked and security guards will not help you! My daughter was attacked by several unknown individuals at this place and it should not be allowed to do business in Maywood.

I came and it was very good experience your employee Oscar has amazing customer service smile gets the job done fast past and wonderful worker keep up the good business ❤️

Took a while to place an order! Food came out fast and was flavorful! Had pot roast and my garlic bread and sides was swimming in the juices which made it not completely enjoyable. However, they provide plenty food and the atmosphere is definitely a vibe!

I went a couple weeks ago for my birthday and had an amazing experience! The food was delicious, the drinks were amazing and the service was excellent. Shoutout to Latoya…she was helpful & provided excellent service. I will be back & I have been telling everyone I know they should go!!!!

I love this place from the first time I came,
However each time I come it seems to be going downhill with the servers.
This last visit was very very very unsatisfying. The server lied to me about paying my bill and using my rewards then said she don’t know how it goes. My food had to be replaced a couple times because it was cold and nothing like what I’m used to. I tried calling the manager and never could get through so I gave up.
Not sure if I would ever come back again but I have gotten so many people to come here back and forth. I’m very disappointed because I truly loved it there

Them buffalo chicken eggrolls a hit definitely making a trip back to get them again. The patron daiquiri was decent too. The server Myra made sure i was situated she was polite and very attentive
